It is Saturday morning at Zhuhai, time about 7:30am. It has been raining just like yesterday and the track is wet. It will probably stay wet for the whole day.

Team Hong Kong Racing Vantage GT2 went on fire after 2009 Merdeka Millennium 12 Hour Endurance race at the Sepang F1 track. The car at Okayama last year was a Vantage GT2 rent to the factory. The car at Zhuhai is a DBRS9 a GT3 car run by Dynaten Motorsports.

Rain has stopped, but no sun. Porsche Carrera Cup Asia race 1 is on, three cars have crashed so far and the safety car has appeared twice. There could be a bit of debris on track but the racing line maybe dry for ILMC qualifying later.

ILMC Qualifying has started, track is wet officially but seems dry on the racing line. Everyone in GT class is out on track.

JLOC Lambo Sekiguchi 1:33.516 Porsche GT3 Hybrid second fastest 1:33.789. Audi R8 LMS Alex Yoong 1:34.959 Saleen Pedro Lamy 1:35.217 Audi R8 LMS Danny Watts 1:35.682 Ferrari Gianmaria Bruni 1:35.810 Porsche Richard Lietz 1:36.114 BMW Jorg Muller 1:36.156 Last edited by Asa; 6 Nov 2010 at 06:55. |

Looks like 2 GTC cars and the Porsche Hybrid are faster than the entire GT2 field?

Pretty wicked GT quali. Nice to see JLOC doing fine for once, but it's not that shocking to see GT3s beating GT2s again.
Asian Le Mans Series is still such a flop. One single race per year (apparently next year as well) and very few entries. |

I'm sure Allan McNish will make an attack on Sébastien Bourdais as he knows to do at the start of the race(remember PLM start McNish vs Montagny)

Hello
I can only assume that everyone else knows about this BUT I've just seen the advert at the top which shows Motors TV covering the entire race and having just check Sky, to also see Eurosport showing the first two hours live. That's a "Brucie bonus" Nick |

Qualifying for LMPs was a crapshoot. I believe that Audi should've followed Peugeot and gamble on intermediates being the best shot. Then again, Simon though that his time would hold until Sarazin blitzed him by a second, and Kristensen almost overtook Pag's time. Still, I think that Audi changing over to slicks wasn't the best move, as it took away time that could've been better used. Even on a dry track, intermediates/cut slicks would hold out for a couple of laps, and that stragegy worked for Stephane.
That said, the slate is pretty much wiped clean, as the race will be held in sunshine and a green track. Only info that Audi and Peugeot have to go from is from Thursday, which was cooler and overcast. They're both in the same boat, and it's down to who plays their cards better come race time. And it's not surprising that the R8s and the Porsche Hybrid are faster than GT2s--both have more power, and Zhuhai favors power with the long straights and slow corners. TK said that even when green and dirty, the track surface has a lot of grip, which probably helps the GT3 cars with their narrow tires. No wonder why the ALMS doesn't want Euro-Spec GT3s in the GTC class right now--all they need is wider tires and they'll be very quick GT2 cars. |

Not in Germany either, Eurosport shows the final two hours live while Motors shows the full race tape delayed starting at noon.
Guess I´ll be getting up at nine to catch the last two hours then, I hate watching tape-delayed stuff. |

Warm up results in LMP1: Peugeot, Audi, Peugeot, Audi. Just over 1 second covers the top 4, with the gap between the lead Pug and lead Audi (the #8, BTW!) of less than .4 of a second on a green track.

There isn't any rain since I woke up this morning in Zhuhai and none is forecast. The Porsche Carrera Cup Asia race 2 is on right now, they are setting times of 1:39.1. A dry race is expected. With the speed of the Peugeot and Audi's lap times, the race should finish by 5.5 hours.
