Are you officially allowed to build up a car around a new tub these days? I remember it happened to Peugeot back in 1993 (when apparently it wasn't allowed...... )

Rules are most definitely made to be bent - aren't they?

Just checking - as far as we know, are there any berths in any of the teams still to be decided now?

Well, the blurb suggests that this is supposed to be a toe in the water for a full Chinese effort - next year presumably. It does seem a shame though after Frankie Cheng's great showing last year that someone didn't have the good sense to draft him into this car......

If they don't tell us, we assume - same as in everything else in life...... I can hardly believe Frankie priced himself out of the market.....

See DSC are positing that the WR might be allowed to run laps on Wednesday just in case there are any cases of force majeure driven withdrawals. Obviously be very sad to see anyone pull out at this late stage, but it would be nice to see a WR back on the ground it's made for.

Nice story on DSC about Endurance Asia during scrutineering. ACO tried to find a local entry but couldn't find any able to invest completely so that's where Thierry Perrier came in with some Chinese backing. His objective is for the team to become increasingly Asian. The team presentation photos already shows the 4 Chinese crew members that were brought it and they hope to compete during the second half of the year.

I found out at Le Mans that Hexis had entered a DBR9 in GT1 , but were refused an entry .
And , the Lambo , was the same chassis that was crashed at Le mans in 2007 , with a road car arse end grafted onto it for 2009 . The team (T2M) were led to believe that they were supposed to be running the latest spec chassis and the ACO were led to believe the same thing too . The team said that when they finally got their hands on the car not one single nut & bolt was tight !!! That shower of XXXXXXX ..... they should be banned for all their bull !!! They got in because of promotion for the new Asian LM series was the story . |

Ah that stinks if that is indeed true. I mean it already stinks that Larbre was passed over by Jloc but to think we could have had a Hexis-run car, even though they would be making a huge leap from GT2/GT3 to GT1 is also disappointing.
In the end there's always a bit of marketing and business behind some entries. We can only be happy that it's not a constant thing nor is it something that haunts a majority of the entry list. |
