Yes, glad got signed on and scrutineered the day before. Gave time to enjoy some excellent black pudding at hotel before leaving for circuit. After 'New Boy' briefing at 0900, practice 0930, half hour queue in parc ferme for weighing after that then straight to race briefing at 1030 was ready for a lie down.

So that was JP who came in to land during practice. I was bit busy looking for the next corner to see registration

HSCC Meeting Oulton Park.

Hi Rudolf I am happy that you like Oulton Park, my circuit for the last 32years. I am a strecken posten I watched you drive by my post. It is always a great meeting with cars and drivers that race. I will be at Hockenheim for the DTM finale as a guest official a track that I also like but I prefer the old circuit as do many of my German friends. Maybe we see you next year and we can have a chat.

Well, that's your BBC contract done for. There I was trying to leave a false trail but, not content with turning out in the whitest overalls delta has ever seen (not sure how white that makes them though ...) you go and blow your cover big time!

My bet is that the next Stig will be Sir Stirling. Lets face is he is used to white overalls and helmets and dropped a big hint about 'retirement' in a post race interview. What more do you need to know?

Well my day in High Court has seen to that anyway...

They are a bit white aren't they....they do nothing for my complexion. So Iain's to blame for the banter then!

Good photos by the way.

Derwent Motorsp should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It's a pity that all grids were not full. It seems that many historic racers seem unwilling to head north of Silverstone as Croft also had poor grids for the HSCC meeting. Perhaps there are now too many meetings?
There is also a "chicken/egg" issue for those of us living in the more sublime areas of the UK; as there are only the odd meeting within reasonable distance, we don't register for a championship but at the same time it's difficult to do just odd events in particularly the HSCC events. I considered doing the Croft meeting but when I enquired I found I would have to join the HSCC and pay a part registration fee and then the entry fee. I know a few other notherners found the same and thus the HSCC missed out on our entries. The HSCC generally run their events as closed to club and it would help if they invited other clubs like the MGCC. It was actually better value for me to go to Silverstone and do our GTS race at the BOC than go to Croft.

There were a lot of no shows in Legends race- Full entry but only 25 on grid.....

Before became full member I took out HSCC Day membership (still £10 afaik), which you can do once per season.

I've read a few posts about entries at this meeting and, although I am obviously more than a little biased, I quote the HSCC website which says that this year's Gold Cup had "what is believed to be a record for Oulton Park with an entry of over 480 cars".

Across the weekend there were reserve entries standing by for six of the races. This included the Guards Trophy where with 71 entries, despite the race being split in to separate SR and GT grids, there were still reserves in both.

All in all it was a very busy meeting.

Mike's memory is right. The Club's duty is to look after it's members but it does have a 'day membership' facility for people wanting 'once off' entries.

Chris

Given the above could the club please consider running more split grids in 2011 ? An old chestnut I know (and you may prefer not to comment here) but I think that we are now in a position where both sports racer and GT grids would be filled.

I hope you don't mind me posting in here, my name is Jason Massey and was at the Gold Cup for 4 days taking photos. I may have even spoken to a few of you, I was the chap with the camera taking photos while scrutineering was taking place..

I took alot of pictures, and I may have pictures of your cars, I may even have a picture of you as was taking many shots around the pits during driver changes. If your interested tell me your car, and i'll freely upload whatever I can find for you.

These are a few of the best I took.

There is also a few more on my flickr account.

Yes, the Fox is no more, at his own request. It's great to get Chris posting on here. I'm sure that it won't be too often, and for obvious reasons he will stay clear of contentious issues, but he reads every word we write!

Also warm welcome to Jason.

Proof that Mr. Rowley is now a fully paid up member of the MGB racing club.

Somebody driving a red B that thinks it is a Lotus Cortina.

Unbeknown to Nick JM, Team Delta stripped the B bodywork between races and Iain got another run in it in the guise of an HFF2000, failing to win only due to the limitation of the undersized engine.[/QUOTE]

great pics Grant. Good to see what the 'B can do in the right hands - thanks Delta. Amazing circuit but one which I found difficult to learn so apologies if I held anyone up. Can any of you hardened pros remember what it was like in your first few races or is it just me thinking "why is everyone going so much faster!!!"
