Tyre Pressure Gauge

Can anyone recommend a good tyre pressure gauge?

I have had 3 now in as many years and they keep breaking.

They don't take any abuse, are stored in a warm dry garage, yet they seem so fickle..... They are all from so called top manufacturers also.

The latest one gave up the ghost on Saturday at Oulton when we went into qualifying with 27psi in our ACB10's, because the gauge read 18psi.

Does anyone use a digital gauge and can say how accurate these are as at least they don't have needles that keep sticking....

I've got to get one ordered today, so if anyone can offer any suggestions?

Cheers

There's someone off the Combe forum selling one on E-Bay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MESE%3AIT&rd=1
Not sure if it's suitable for competition purposes though

Costco are doing a digital "racing" pressure gauge for a tenner. Don't know how good it is 'cause not had a proper look. Things from costco are usaully half decent. They are currently stocking an aluminium jack 90mm saddle height, for £70 which is identical to one in tweeks that is retailing for £260. No I don't work for costco just a satisfied customer.

I've got a Tanner Racing tyre pressure gauge. I've had it for about 6 years and never had any problems with it and it still seems accurate when comparing it with other gauges.

Intercomp do a great range of gauges, one of the best on the market is www.intercompracing.com/detail.cfm?ItemID=69.

I have had no problem with any of my intercomp kit. I would also recommend extra protection on any gauge you buy. I sink mine into a great big deep peice of sponge / rubber, then wrapp in in tank tape. I have had the last gauge for nearly twenty years, had it checked recently still reads correctly.

Perhaps our Mr Walsh is a bit heavy handed with his tool. You do know you're supposed to suck, not blow. It's the opposite to what you think.

I have a digital one which I use for Vee. Was pretty cheap but seems to read quite well, might get something a little better next season.
