That may well be, but, I do believe that the homologation of the GT-2 Corvette will be done by GM via Pratt&Miller as expressed in the debacle with the Riley unit. Therefore controlling who gets the upgradeable GT-2 cars which if I recall correctly it was stated that the GT-2 would be the focus of GM and maybe in the future a kit for GT-1 would be thought about.

If FIA GT doesn't get it's future sorted quick, to the satisfaction of manufacturer's and teams, it will not only have to deal with competition from the LMS/ALMS, but also a fast improving, European based, privateer friendly International GT Open.

Hmm, as well as the LG Motorsports Riley came along in the short amount of time that it has had on the track, etc.. I do believe that a full on Corvette Racing effort will be quite "Johnny on the Spot" so to speak. It may have a few teething pains but the whole team/process has come quite a ways since it was concieved way back when. Heck, Katech has probably already got an engine on the dyno.

"Fehan says the debut of the GT2 entry likely will come at Mid-Ohio. It will revolve around a next-generation Corvette C6.R that again will compete on cellulosic E85. The car will have steel brakes, a smaller wing and a little less horsepower than the current GT1 car. Other than that, Fehan said, it will look exactly the same as now."

Exactly? EXACTLY? No, no, no, not exactly. PLEASE, I mean, PLEASE, I really mean, PLEASE don't paint it yellow!

Here's a thought, go all out as a USA team and paint it red, white and blue:

I expect that Risi, Tafel, Farnbacher Loles, and Flying Lizard will compete like adults....and win...not whine. Let's face it, the whiners were losers in every sense of the word. Instead of working they cried. Glad to see them gone.

If you think that Corvette Racing and money was the reason that Prodrive and AM got their butt kicked you are living in fantasy land. (Or on the AM Kool Aid.) The green fords arrived at every track looking for an excuse to lose, not planning to win. They were thinking about the next press release pleading for more help from the rule-makers before they even turned a wheel in Friday testing.

Another point. You don't think that Flying Lizard was a "full factory" team in every way that counts? Development and drivers? Ridiculous.

What is wrong with the yellow and black livery, with skulls and all?

Team USA, with foreign drivers... Naa, I doubt it will work. Eventhough Panoz tried something like that.. Look cool though
