Thanks for the feedback

It will be awesome ....all you need to do is get a bunch of mates together and it becomes dirt cheep to be a part of it.

....how many people get the chance to race in a 24 hour motor race????????????

unfortunately though I have deleted some of your posts because it breaks forum rules.

I will let this thread stand in here and may I suggest you post one in the cool sites forum.

No real problem but here at ten tenths we like to keep things where they should be.

That's awesome... there are a few like that in the US, but it would be fun to get some friends together to do it in Australia... maybe next year!

The 24 hour has been run and won, congrats to the LJ Hookers Menai team, with great drives from former National Champ Phil King backed up by Ryan Stott and the rest of the Stott Family. My team ended up 4th or 5th, cant remember lol, but we were the only other team to lead the event.

We got a bad start, it was actually a Le Mans start meaning a team member ran to our kart, started it and off we went, only my kart wouldnt start, lol. Once underway we quickly picked up places and were up to 3rd before i pitted to hand over to another gun . We got into the lead and then once pit stop settled we hung around the top 3 until about 3.20am when i had a tyre pop off the rim just as i was approaching the braking area at the end of the main straight. After quickly accessing the damage, i limped the kart back to the pits where it was quickly pachted up and sent on its way. We put young Matt in the kart (so i could heal after giving my ribs a pounding, lol) and not 20 minutes into his stint he had total brake failure which put the kart out for about 20 minutes. Having fixed all that we hauled the kart back up to 3rd despite the time lost, only to have the luckless Matt run over an engine mount, ripping the electrics from one of the engines, meaning we sat in the pits for almost 40 minutes. Once that was reparied we had a trouble free run to the finish. Was a great experience, although after spending some 8 hours in a kart with a seat insert made up of 22 kgs of lead, the body is looking a bit ordinary, lol. Was great ro run with the likes of Phillip, Peter Hackett etc, maybe im not as washed up as i thought i was, hehe.

A special thanks to the young lady in our pit who became Team manager at late notice, sat up for the entire 24 hours making sure the 5 of us did what we were supposed to do, and generally ran the team, without her we would have been lost. Also thanks to Lex Gommie for letting us run his kart, maybe next year we will do a little better

Finally thanks to my team mates, Ambo Chris, Chris America, Young Matt and Matt, lol got confusing with dudes with the same name, hence the nics, lol.
