Hey James, nice of you four drivers to pop over and say hi at the campsite... but did you really have to eat all the sausages whilst I was travelling over from Donny ? We'll have to do it again soon I reckon...

So, anyway, tell us about your race... obviously the feature race didn't go to plan, but what was going through your mind when you you took the start for your first BTCC race ? And what was it like having your own fan club waving, shouting and cheering you on at Knickerbrook ?

TAKING THE START OF OF MY FIRST B.T.C.C. RACE WAS A DREAM COME TRUE.
I WANTED TO GET THE FIRST CORNER OUT OF THE WAY AND BECAUSE THE FIRST TIME I'D SAT IN THE CAR WAS ON THE SATURDAY I'D HAD LIMITED RUNNING TIME SO I WASNT SURE HOW THE CAR WOULD HANDLE ON COLD TYRES WHEN PUSHED.
I GOT THROUGH THE FIRST CORNER O.K. AND THEN PASSED ANNIE AND JOHN, I THEN STARTED PUSHING TO CATCH JIM EDWARDS JNR AND CO BUT THE BRAKE BIAS WAS TO FAR TO THE REAR AND THE CAR TRIED TO SWAP ENDS ON THE WAY IN TO CASCADES. I MANAGED TO CONTROL IT BUT HAD TO TAKE A QUICK TRIP OFF THE TRACK THIS LOST ME TIME AND PLACES. I THEN STARTED LOSING GEARS LIKE ON THE SATURDAY AND RETIRED WHEN I ONLY HAD 1ST AND 5TH WORKING PROPERLY.

I STARTED THE FEATURE RACE WITH ONLY 1ST AND 5TH GEAR BECAUSE WE'D USED OUR SPARE GEAR BOX PARTS OVERNIGHT ALREADY TO FIX SATURDAYS PROBLEM.
WE JUST DID ONE LAP, I COMPLETED THE LAP ONLY IN 5TH GEAR.

ONCE AGAIN THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT TONI ALSO PASSES ON HIS REGARDS.

Hi James
Well done, first race out of the way! As far as the rest of the 10-10ths lot are concerned, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the "sausage" quote from Saturday night!
