I don't think Matt will have it quite as easy in 2001 as he did this year. Especially if Kurtis Roberts finds his way in to the series.

He is the other son of Kenny Roberts. He just wrapped up the Formula Extreme championship by seriously waxing the whole field. If you are not familiar with Formula Extreme, it is a series for open-class bikes. It's roots go back to a class originally designed around a "run-what-ya-brung" set of rules. In other words there were no rules regarding the bike or it's engine. It brought out some rather interesting bikes. Including the "Methanol Monster". Kurtis was rather exciting to watch on the Erion Honda CBR900RR that has undergone some rather serious modifications over the years. They just can't seem to make the tires last very long.

i heard that kurtis roberts has a " my s*** dont stink attitude", is this true?....surely nicky hayden or eric bostrom would have to be more of a championship contender to mladin than kurtis...

I can't say much about his attitude. Was not aware of this, yet.

Nicky has the potential, Bostrom is on/off too much. No consistency.

Kurtis is one of those guys that may never come off well on a TV interview.

And as far as I'm concerned the Formula Extreme was a good idea but the 2 Erion Honda 929's have too much money behind them for anybody else to have much of a chance. So that class is not a good indicator of talent.

600 SS is the best place to watch for talent and Kurtis has shown well there.

But when he makes the jump to SB he will have to work his way through several guys before he gets to Mladin.... TMO
