Here is another link to that UN statement . https://news.un.org/en/story/2020/06/1067272 So , is Breitbart wrong for showing it , is the UN itself wrong , or is it that most of the media will not tell the truth if it does not agree with their agenda ? |

There's a big difference between:
'The report recommends that countries such as DRC provide “conducive environment to attract investment to establish new mines or expand existing ones”.' and 'U.N. Warns of Devastating Environmental Side Effects of Electric Car Boom' |

In that case we need to turn to an ethical mining company to relieve the pressure on the environment.

Here is the UN’s section on climate change. https://www.un.org/en/sections/issue...limate-change/ Are you saying that all of that is wrong? Are you saying that most of the media and the scientific community is wrong for repeating the following? Quote:

Some interesting comments that I have carefully selected - some may even say cherry-picked: 'Even the cheapest electric cars are still quite expensive. Of course, there are deals to be had, but usually EVs are a few grand dearer to buy outright, or about £100 per month more on PCP than a comparable internal combustion-powered car.' 'On average Brits only drive 20 miles a day and lots of range typically costs lots of money, so before you spend big on that Model S, I-Pace or Kona, it’s worth thinking about how much of it you strictly need. You can always rent another car for longer journeys.' 'pay attention to the range computer. ‘Enthusiastic’ driving, cold weather and liberal use of the air-con all hobble range' 'It’s not as simple as just rocking up and plugging in. Some chargers let you pay as you go with a contactless credit or debit card, but others need you to have an account set up and a specific app on your phone' 'EVs are great, but they aren’t the second coming. Or maybe they are.' |

Their story of a scientific concensus has been proved , over & over again , to be rubbish based on just a few people when the overwhelming majority disagree. https://www.usapoliticstoday.org/sci...limate-change/ But anyone who tries to tell the truth is censored or even sacked from their job . Note , the post I put up recently , https://www.forbes.com/sites/michael...I#4175a2c1fa84 Has been made to disappear already. Records prove that the world was warmer than now in Medieval times , it got colder in the "Little Ice Age " , then started warming up from then . It was hotter than now in the 1930s , got colder up to the 1960s when the politicians then warned about a coming ICE AGE , got hotter up to the 1990s when the Global Warming lies were about , & has been cooling since then . That is when the CLIMATEGATE EMAILS were saying to "HIDE THE DECLINE " . Which is why NASA GISS have been altering temperature records ever since to try to fool people that the world is still warming . Then there is the GHG s . Water vapour is the most abundant , being over 100 times more than CO2 . And of the CO2 , which is only .04% total , the vast majority is natural , & human contribution is only a very tiny percent of that very tiny percent . So anyone who believes in the UN version is blind to the obvious , or desperately wanting to bring about a New World Socialist Government . Last edited by Tel 911S; 30 Jun 2020 at 09:24. Regarding Wikipedia it may be great for finding out lots of things, however don't forget that "Wikipedia" is a wiki, meaning that "anyone" can edit any unprotected page and improve articles immediately for all readers. You do not need to register to do this.

Wiki may be handy for a few things , but the editing of its articles has led to a large number of them being total lies . https://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/10/...ley-continues/ But like a lot of the media , they will only allow the side of the story that fits the political agenda . |

Is it a coincidence that, when you look at the Wikipedia article for Cherry Picking, it contains the following:
'Cherry-picking is often used in science denial such as climate change denial. For example, by deliberately cherry picking appropriate time periods, here 1998–2012, an artificial "pause" can be created, even when there is an ongoing warming trend' |

Oddly enough I just received the latest Safety Fast and having a quick flick through I think I saw in the Speed Championship pages a picture of a EV MG being put through its paces.

yes , that is quite a good example of Wiki s lying . But sometimes the cherry - picking is almost explainable . Like when they mention Arctic sea ice and use Satellite info for it . Satellites have only been about since 1978 , so is a good start time for them as that was when the world was warming up again from the 60s cold spell . You remember Arctic sea ice , it was predicted to be all gone by many years ago , and now by mid summer , there is only 11 Million Square Kilometers of it left . So the average area did reduce from 78 through until about 2012 , but is now increasing again . But if you take the figures from 100 years ago , then overall it starts from a much smaller area than has been seen since .So the average amount has increased . The 1930s were a much warmer time than now so Ice Levels in Greenland & the Arctic were much smaller . So which example of those is Cherry Picking . |

Ok, we are sooo far away from the original intent of the topic I'm closing it.
