Darren Galpin should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ford Capri 1968-1974

I've been contacted by the Italian Ford Capri owners club, having supplied them with race results in the past. This time I'm a little more stuck - can anyone help out with the following:

"Can you send me some informations abouth the german /U.K FORD/MOTORSPORT (1968/74 story) ?
I need informations of the ford CAPRI RS 2600 mk1(1973) (races-results ecc.) The famous ex driver of F1 NIKI LAUDA in his competion life drived one FORD CAPRI RS 2600? I need informations of the FORD CAPRI MK1(1968/74-rallye races)"

Thanks.

There are two books by Jeremy Walton which might help, but both are out of print unfortunately.

Capri - A Competition and Development History published by Haynes

Sporting Fords Vol 3 - Capri published by MRP

Darren, have you pointed them to my site? (http://go.to/touringcars); full results of all works participations of the Capri and some other races as well. http://www.wspr-racing.com/ has the results of the DRM races 1972-1975 where works cars often raced.
And yes, Lauda was part of the Ford team in 1974.

No I hadn't Frank, and thanks for reminding me. I've had far to much on my plate recently, and I'm forgetting to many things. I think I'm cracking up......

Did Lauda drive the 2600? I thought it was the 3400 in '74.

Lauda raced for BMW up to 1973 (Alpina); in 1974 he switched to Ford with the RS3100 3.4 litres. So he never actually drove a RS2600, as far as I know.
