DHL to become Jordan's Main sponser
As speculated by formula1.com on Wednesday, DHL look set to become Jordan's title sponsor for 2002 if reports by international news agency Reuters are correct.
The team announced that they were to launch their new car at Brussels airport, leading to speculation that current sponsor Deutsche Post Worldnet could be taking over from Benson & Hedges as the team's major partner. Their distribution centre is based at Brussels airport. However head of marketing Mark Gallagher denied to Reuters that this was the case. He said it would "definitely not be Deutsche Post Jordan Honda." This has now led to rumours that DHL, also based at Brussels airport and a subsidiary of Deutsche Post (who own a controlling interest in the company), could become the team's title sponsor. This was lent further weight when a DHL spokesperson told Reuters: "I understand that to be the case." The new EJ12 will be officially launched on February 22nd. |
