Robby Gordon's in car fire

During the Bud at the Glen it was suspected that Robby Gordon's fire in the cockpit of his car was somehow oil related or had some other reason typical to auto racing. Instead it was the electronic suite installed by the TV network that includes a GPS unit to accurately track the location of the car. Apparently it shorted out and caught fire effectively ending Gordon's run.

Now that is a shame. I mean it's one thing if you blow an engine or lose a clutch or use up the tires or brakes racing it. But to lose out because some equipment you have no choice on catching fire must be the most frustrating to any racer. I know every car carried the same gear, but his was the only one to burn up because of it. Its like being involved in a car wreck when you are sitting at a red light. You did nothing wrong yet you are punished for it.

Well, even though I personally think Robby Gordon is a chithead, I can relate to that, and can't help feelin' for the guy.

My car got tagged while it was parked in front of my house, and I was in bed asleep. The guy who hit it was 75, and was headed home from his Doctor's office, where he had been given a shot of pain meds. He had also hit someone elses car before he hit my neighbors car, which then plowed into mine. He managed to take out three cars in two miles.

The first car he hit was on the corner of the street I live on, which was the first one of two he had to turn on. My house is 3\4 of a mile from that corner, and 1 block from his next turn, which was 4 blocks from his house. His house is 5 blocks from away from mine.

So I had to pay my deductable and 20% of $30.00 a day for a rental for two weeks, all of which will be covered by my insurance, which will get repaid by his insurance after all is said and done, but not until then. I finally had to get a loaner from the body shop because I just couldn't afford that anymore. Specially since I know how insurance companies are. I'm probably going to have to get a lawyer and sue them to get my money back.

Meanwhile the bodyshop is taking their dear sweet time fixing my car. They've had the car for three weeks now. The rental was ok, but the loaner is tiny, and I'm a big feller, and can hardly get in the damn thing. I want my car back.
