Any new entries for this race? I so badly want to see S7Rs back in FIA-GT.

Haven't heard of any more entries just yet, I'll listen carefully for any news, I can't wait for Saleens to finally return aswell, in case your interested:

'One of the ex-Konrad/ Max Stanco cars (chassis 014R) was bought by Miro Konopka in 'regret-worthy condition'. Konopka says he will not return to FIA GT with his Porsche, but the Saleen could be seen in the Citation Cup '

As I posted in another thread, found that story on a website somewhere, possible it may enter the series soon

The track is cool, although the GT3 Porsche that I raced last year went terribly there, I think I was the fastest Porsche and qualied 21st!

But the GT2 Porsche should go well there and I hope for a good race...

I agree, although the Citation Cup gives us lots of variety its a shame the drivers aren't able to do anything with it, it's odd to see Ferraris, Maseratis and 'Vettes at the back of the field.
Its a shame the Saleen has suddenly disappeared, ORECA are proving the car can still be competitive, I just wish somebody else would have a go. I'm slightly worried about the 'regret-worthy condition' though, I fear we may not see the car this season, if at all

Good luck Sean, bout time you guys got a good result

After Janis's incredible season at Zakspeed last year, these bitsy drives with Ecosse and Spyker aren't really doing anything for him. Guess his somewhat problematic management hasn't leant him too well to getting a full time ride with a GT1 entry this season.

(He's probably insanely optimistic that driving the Spyker C8 in LMS could somehow lead to an F1 drive?)

Anyway, Kessel + a few others is no major loss.

What happened to Barwell's DBR9 anyway? I thought they were planning to run the full season?

could be people dropping out to prepare for spa?

As for the track, its designed mainly for touring cars, so its a bit restrictive for GTs compared to Hockenheim, which is much faster. But boy woul the stands look empty in the stadium

I can't see it being anything but a Vitaphone win, they always win here- Bartels.

PS- muchos good luck Sean!

Yes I would have to think the Vitaphone's wouldbe favourites too...

Back to the entry, yeah bit basic again isn't it, I also hope it's simply due to people 'saving' cars for the Spa 24h and then they'll come back and play at the next round?

Shame about this latest Saleen no-show, i'm sure there's a lot of non 10-10thers who also want to see a couple back in the series and maybe that's where all these stories generate from!!

To be honest i'd rather have one competitive one and a Citation Cup entry than 1 or 2 uncompetitive main GT1 entrants.

So I would assume that the organisers will be looking the way of ORECA or anyone interested in purchasing those cars for pukka Saleen entries in next seasons champiosnhip.

Back to Oschersleben, Lambo's have never gone well there, so even with it's better form this year they could struggle. mind you they'll both be back to minimum weight this weekend won't they?

Err lambo must have some weight, championship positions?
Or am I wrong?
Saleen could be one of the best cars, but you need a good one, as was proved by Balfe/Zakspeed in '06, sadly.
If everyone wants to see a Saleen, lets all chip in :P Jarek to drive?

Dunno, yeah you're probably right about points positions?

I thought ballast was based on points gathered previous race and all that. Maybe not.

Anyway, if the thing's heavy it's got no chance as opposed to a bit of a chance with no weight!

Here you re the Saleen, last year the car was competitive because it had the right people running it and 2 decent drivers. If we can't have one like that then I don't mind a slower one in Citation, just because the cars look and sound great.

Sure do, and your right about the ballast:

Car Weight
1 0+25 Kg
2 50+25 Kg
5 20 Kg
7 30 Kg
11 0+25 Kg
12 0+25 Kg
14 40 Kg
15 0+25 Kg
16 0+25 Kg
33 40 Kg
50 50+28 Kg
51 35+28 Kg
52 25 Kg
53 0+28 Kg
62 0+28 Kg
97 0+28 Kg

(I think thats been updated, seems about right)

Kox/Menten do not finished in the first 3 races. And the last race they had problems with the gearbox, but the speed was proved with the second position in quali, bad enough the rear wing is changed while driving and they had to start as the last car.

Well the no8 has tended to be the slower of the 2 cars when 'equal' so if it's 30 k's less than no 7 this weekend it ought to be quicker then?

You say the Saleen of Zakspeed was run better?
It was an '06 car, Balfe only had an '04- just look at it, the Balfe car looks like the Vitaphone '04, whereas the Zakspeed has a few differences.

Concetrate on rear wing and wing mirrors, they're the biggest clues.

Those mirrors are nothing new to Oreca. The Graham Nash/RML cars where running them in 2003:

Both the Zakspeed and Balfe car are running different roof scoops from the early cars though.

The biggest differences are:
Chassis
Michelin tyres
Air intake on the roof
Rear wing + extra rear wing
Feul intake
Front brake coolers (holes) on the hood and after the wheels
Rear Bumper
Rear diffuser + rear bumper
