Division 1A & Division 2 (RWD)

A few questions:-

Are the Divsion 1A regs identical to S1600, other than the sequential gearbox which will be allowed in 2007?

What BHP do the D1A cars put out compared to there S1600 equivalents?

With regards to the new RWD 'Division 2' class, I've read engine spec will be free, other than being limited to 2000cc/same manufactuer etc., with no rev limiters or restrictors, so what kind of BHP will these put out.

The 2l super tourers maxed out at 330bhp at 8500rpm, while the 306 and Xsara 2l Kit Cars may have produced even more without rev limiters.

High reving 330+ bhp, 930kg, RWD cars WILL be very entertaining!!!!

My choice for this new class, a Volvo S40 with that great sounding 5 cylinder motor

I think 5 cylinders will not be allowed... Boring, hey?
930 kg 300+ bhp cars will come close to div 1, so let's see how they will sort that...

Close, but with RWD not close enough.

I did read that 4,5 and 6 cyliner engines will be eligable if fitted to the road car, i.e Volvo S40 T5 or V6 Alfa etc.

S1600 weigh 1000kg and D1A only 850kg!

So can anyone answer my original question, how does the power of a D1A car compare to it's S1600 equivalent?

Would think they would be the same as there are no restrictions on engines in either class.
