If you can make the Friday, I recommend it. Much more laid back crowd wise plus you get to see all of the cars before the mechanical gremlins take hold!

It is good to see that the timetable is known well in advance so that people can make an informed choice as to whether to go or not.

That way those of us who do go merely indulge in a bit of rueful chatter about a late night and no actual whinging. Result.

Celebrity races? - Ah well, you can't win them all and the splendid selection of other cars makes up for it. (For me only of course. )

Regards

Jim

Quite right. All I ask is that I know when I'm volunteering what I'm volunteering for, then I can decide if it fits into my personal criteria before committing myself.

Where I complain is when I only find out a week before when the passes arrive, so good on the organisers for getting this information out nice and early. Wouldn't it be lovely if the expected content of all meetings was available at volunteering time?

This is always a "must do" on our calendar, although we only normally do Friday/Saturday.

However, if they are talking about long, long days again then I, for one, will be voting with my feet. You may have my services for one long day, but not for two on the trot.

I thought that the organisers had changed after this year - so hoped that a better timetable was on the cards. As said, I'm not prepared to put up with the c~~p we put up with this year - both timetable and conditions.

' Nuff said from me.....

The OP Gold Cup is going to be my major HSCC meeting of this year, not the Classic.

I haven't checked the calendar yet, but I might go to Mallory for the first time instead of my 'home'circuit.

Classic

Its a great event with some great racing and some awesome cars!! Its also simple if you dont like long days then simply dont attend instead of moaning about it.
Yes they could do with tightening the calendar of events somewhat so we dont have to listen to opera and wait 40mins before the next race but its what they do and as adults we have a choice.
To those that are new to marshalling or the event then I would say have a go and if you dont like it then dont do it next year. But until you try it you will never know.

One of the first meetings I sign up for every year-love it. As far as I'm concerned if I make the trip to a circiut the more time racing the better!

Yes. Can't remember his name, but the guy who started on Saturday morning for the supports, and then ran pit exit for the 24 actually came on the radio at 10.30am on Sunday *whinging* that he wanted someone to cover for him so he could take a break. He went off post *during a race* for 4 hours to sleep
