HairyDJ should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Latest info just arrived from Penny, note the times and the parking / infield driving restrictions (my bold) :-

Sign on will be in the paddock bar(north end of the circuit), at the times below – if you are not attending all 3 days please take note of the times at apply to you.

Friday – between 7.30 and 8.15am

Saturday - between 7.30 and 8.15am

Sunday - between 7.30 and 8.15am

The paddock diner will be open for 7am for breakfast

The organisers have made the below request, however some car passes may be issued at sign on to enable marshals to get to some internal posts.

Due to the nature of this event, which has attracted over 700 race entries, and our concept of infield displays and entertainment, the very busy infield area with car clubs, trade sites, all Marshals are respectfully required to park their cars in the Marshals campsite when not required on post. Once you have signed on you are free to drive your car to post via the outer perimeter road, it would be appreciated where possible if you can car share to alleviate any traffic building up. All cars must be parked on the outside of the circuit, keeping the outer perimeter road FREE at all times, you can then walk to any infield posts via the track

Free bottles of water will be available at sign on please pick up a bottle, but do not take it with you to the till in the paddock cafe as you may be charged for it. All marshals are entitled to a 10% discount on food in the paddock diner – to get you discount please show either the Silverstone Marshals pass or MSA card, the discount will not be automatic even if you are in overalls you must show the marshals cards.

Camping is available at Copse Outside. Limited power hooks up are available on a first come first served basis.

Copy of time table can be found at the link below. Be aware that both Friday and Saturday do have evening sessions. Saturday evening the Classic organisers would like to invite all marshals who signed on Saturday to a Hog Roast in the concert area. Vouchers will be given out at sign on and will be redeemable at the stand serving Hog Roast in the concert area between 21.30 and 23.00 as a thank you for the long day.

I thought that the organisers had changed after this year - so hoped that a better timetable was on the cards. As said, I'm not prepared to put up with the c~~p we put up with this year - both timetable and conditions.

' Nuff said from me.....
Well here is someone hoisted up their own petard - this was written December 2010!!!!

We will be there but I will be using Bill's spare ticket and, as we will be in the same car, I have no choice but to be there from very early to very late doors.

Just goes to show what a difference 6 months can make.

Just a quick question about camping... My better half is turning up on the Saturday afternoon and will have a guest ticket. Later in the evening, will she be able to get her car into the circuit proper? She will be staying the weekend on the campsite with me. On an aside note, this is the first ever time she has been to Silverstone and has managed to wangle a drink in the BRDC clubhouse. Unfair or what?

Adam,

Access to the circuit will only be given to those with car passes, I believe these to be Silverstone year pass, marshal pass as sent out by HSCC for perimiter road or officials centre pass.

Cracking day 1 with Nadine & Luke on "Jenson's parking space" - shame the rain spoilt things for the Group C guys at the end.

Capped off with a great time at Delta's bbq - met some old & new faces from 10ths and plenty of chat for a couple of hours.

Just got back, actually a brilliant day on Abbey Pit Wall/Outside. The group C's were definitely worth the long day

A very long 1st day's marshaling for the wife & I @ Luffield in yesterday. Fantastic day. Brilliant racing & the group C were well worth the long day. A big thanks to I/O Brian & the lads for looking after us and sharing their valuable knowledge.

Had a great day on post 10 with my oppo Bob. Joined in with the Tenors Unlimited, oggled the girls with the electric fiddles and when the Amadaus Orchestra stuck up The Dambusters Theme with the Spit and the Mustang over head it brought a tear to our eyes. Also a little up and down movement on post to Pomp and Circumstance a la last night of the proms. Waited whistles in mouth for the Sailors hornpipe but they did not play it (Boooo!)

Was there some racing on.......?

Had a enjoyable weekend. I was at Copse on Friday then Club Out on Sunday.

Though it rained on Friday late afternoon and we got wet, it was cool watching those Group C car's go round in it.

Also thank you to the Delta Team for the BBQ on Friday evening. Was nice to meet some of you there.
