M3 GTRs at Le Mans?
In 2001, the BMW M3 GTRs of the factory BMW team and the PTG team ran the entire ALMS season and kick everyones asses in GT! Though, they did not show up at Le Mans that year, or any other year with any other M3 GT race cars. Why is this? Were the M3 GTRs banned from LM due to the lack of road V8 M3s made? What is the reasoning behind this? I have always wondered why no M3s have ever raced at Le Mans in the past?

Seriously IIRC, it was just a choice from BMW not to go in '01 and then they pulled out fully from ALMS due to all the rules, er, discussion (sales, road cars, engines...).

Sod this. I'm not going around this particular circle for the umpteenth time. No disrespect Garrett, but we've done this one to death over the last couple of years and I've run outr of suitable "shopping" descriptions for the M3 GTR.....
