rallycross spectators
I know it sounds daft, but how much does it cost a spectator to come and watch a rallycross event. I have a few friends who want to come and watch on the bank holiday monday, and wanted to know how much the gate entry fee is.
Anybody know what the fee for lydden on the 28th is? si |

I was looking on the Lydden website today and I seem to remember the price was 10 pounds.

Sounds like a great deal to me. Or do I mean a "good" deal?

Thats right great value for money and has been the same for the past few years.
Where else do you get 30+ races for that. Did notice last year that Knockhill and Croft were I believe charging £12. |

12 quid is hardly expensive for any sort of racing to be honest.
I spend most of my time watching oval racing which has more racing per pound than any and i mean any form of racing, and you can see it all. And the trouble is that if you keep going every year you tend to notice the cost raises more than if you make a one off visit. I think that 25 plus quid for touring cars or british superbikes is expensive for only about 6 races. In fact it is a no brainer when you can see more in a practice session anyway.!! |

Lydden is usually a tenner for rallycross and 8 quid for SEMSEC meetings. Given the amount of racing that takes place at a rallycross meeting that has to be great value for money - there's stuff on track from 9ish until gone 5 usually (and on some occasions there have been well over 50 races throughout the day ). Can't wait for Lydden....

Did anyone see the star letter in MSN last week from a spectator who arrived at croft after a 80 mile journey only to be told the event was off. He had rang the track that morning and there was noting left on the machine so assumed meeting was on. Was not happy camper.

I agree with Bert, Lydden is always excellent value for money. Plus, where ever you stand, you can see most of the circuit.
The only thing with Lydden, is that you must like pot noodle |

There have been some alterations to the circuit over the winter. At the Elbow there is now a much needed wider run-off area as the bank has been moved bodily backwards. In doing so, the entry to the loose at Paddock is perhaps a tad narrow than before but not drastically so in my opinion. As at last Sunday work was still ongoing. The enlarged Elbow run-off should encourage those who want to make a late-braking move on the approach.
On a much more important note - the old green marshals bus has GONE! By all accounts it was dragged out (and I thought it was only the rust molecules holding hands that kept it together...). I well remember crowding into the bus in years past. There was always someone who would ring the bell and call out "move along inside please!". |

The bus has gone??? Shocking
Hopefully the changes to the circuit will encourage overtaking, it'll be interesting to see what difference they make to the lines people use in the corners. |

Is the bus at Lydden going to be replaced with anything?

Think of what I wonder! It reminds me how good my memory is as I can remember the old LT Country buses and green rover tickets.
Shame to see its demise though. Maybe they will replace it with a nice brand new caravan for the marshals with heating and all mod cons. |

I did know Gnomex its on the left. Thought they might improve upon that one day. You guys deserve all the mod cons they can give you.
