What a fault for Tréluyer. He thought that the pilot of the Aston would let him pass.

Audi pit strategy is at least somewhat in tatters. They've lost pretty much all the lap advantage they'd built up to this point. I'm not sure if this quick Safety Car would have saved Audi from needing a quick splash at the end anyway.
Also, the #2 hasn't been able to keep pace, and I should think the #1 will have a penalty coming. EDIT: Kaz just pulled a 1:28.212! Fassler can't keep pace at all with him, and is even losing a bit of ground to the #2 Audi. EDIT 2: Kaz just slammed home a 1:28.088! EDIT 3: #1 Audi has a Stop-and-Go for hitting the Aston. Closest Audi 50 seconds behind Toyota now. Seems like Audi shot themselves in the foot.

Lapierre told on MotorsTV that Toyota had to still push to keep a margin for a splash. However the rear tires of the Audi wear quickly out.

Tréluyer has just said that he was too much optimistic and believed that the Aston let him overtake. The car is OK, no geometry problem. It's maximum attack from the beginning of the race.

I assume, unless the rules would prevent it, that Nakajima will stay in till the end?

I think Wurz is going to take the wheel.
No, he just said they let Nakajima on the track. |

Looks like the #1 Audi might win, amazing after all it went through. Going to be a close finish.
Edit: #1 will win. Wow, Toyota just not as fast as expected. Last edited by Beryl; 14 Oct 2012 at 07:10. |

That was a good race, it would have been close had there been no stop and go for the Audi #1.
