Amaroo Park should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
V8X Magazine

This has to be the worst written, worst researched motor sport magazine on sale in Australia.

More space is devoted to car liveries than the nuts and bolts of cars, teams and racing. Who gives a rats as to how pretty the cars look.

Maybe they should look at hiring a decent journalist or 2 to write some stories of substance and interest.

Their website isn't too bad to pick up little bits of news here and there but the magazine is only really any good for the girly photos in all seriousness.

I thought maybe it was a pre school project or something by the standard of writing. It is absoult rubbish. They seem to be aim themselves at a particular end of the Motor Racing public.........

A quote from their first television show was priceless and I think reflects the market it's aimed at:

"I'm just here for the chicks maaate."

And the problem with their website is well known too, the misplacement of quote marks have people believe people who are game enough to talk to them have said things they didnt really say

The most recent was the TEGA announcement regarding Symbol, where detail was attributed to Kelvin O'Reilly as fact and it was, if you read the article correctly, the thoughts of the journo...

Thats crapezoidal....

If toilet paper gets too pricey, you know what the option now is.

Yeah but $6.90 for 70 pages of toilet paper is a bit rich.

Just save your money, it's not worth buying. It's a bit like a teenage boys Dolly.

I find the assumption that V8X is only good for toilet paper absurd - there is no way that shiny magazine paper would be all that absorbent.

This mag is a waste of space. Even the pics are lousy, paper quality is poor, the stories full of fluff

Do better or get out

I agree with all here who have said that V8X is terrible. It's awful, absolutaly shocking. I doubt you could make a worse magazine if you tried. It's **** basically.

I remember it, well they stopped making it when i was 9 (1992), but i've got copies going back to 1971, and they are fantastic. It's replacement, Motor Racing Australia, is just as good in a different way.

I remember RCN very well and today's motorsport publications could do a lot worse than model themselves on the race reports in RCN. One notable thing about RCN was the painted cover picture and you didn't have to be a touring car star to get on the cover. These days if you aren't one of the top teams in V8 supercars or F1 you don't get on the cover.

Im remember RCN, and it was a very good magazine. I'm not a fan of MRA though as it's pretty expensive for what it is and coming out monthly or whenever it does, most of the news is stale. AA and MN do better because they are more frequent. AA struggles a bit during the Christmas holidays a bit when the touring car series and F1 are not in season.

It is not made for news stories etc, it is made for a light hearted side to the sport. It is about all the different people who make up the circus.
I enjoy it for a change, there is no sh*t fights or political **** going on, just something to laugh at.
