This is terrible. Totally outrageous. Fans in the UK wanted coverage of the races and what happens? They are given it. Pah.

Certain times of year, I think. Don't recall anything ever appearing on the listing. Must have been glad to get NASCAR: 'w00t, we can show something'!

Question about who's paying for it is an interesting one. Do Sky Sports have a contract they didn't want to honour on their prime channels and needed somewhere to show it? Did they want to hold on to it in order to retain rights to Brickyard and maybe some others? Did NASCAR realise they'd got an audience over here for sponsors and couldn't get someone to pay for it?

Who cares, it's on.

Sky don't have a contract to show NASCAR live. That ran out last year (although they paid for the Daytona 500 as a one-off for this year).

If you have a satellite dish pointed at the right place (28.2°E / 28.5°E) you'll be able to get it, but Wackypedia says that The Netherlands use different satellites located in different places, so the dish will be pointing somewhere different.

Open Access 3 on a wide beam transponder, unlike the BBC channels which have their footprint very well limited to just the UK and RoI (however supposedly you guys get it really easily on cable).

I would imagine that the UK TV coverage starts at 7 p.m., seeing as the race starts 3 p.m. US Eastern Time (which is equal to 9 p.m. CET, and our TV coverage starts at 8 p.m.).

It is pants quality. Better than an internet stream though.

It looks like we won't get the ads though. When the US go for ads we still get the feed. At the moment it is the blimp. At a guess they are using the same feed as Sky did, so hopefully that means we still see the race when the US is in adverts.
We don't get any team chatting at this point either.

Michael Waltrips new show looks good

Sounds like the good old days on Setanta/NASN. Minus the picture quality.

Still happy with the quality at the moment? It is on live though, so that is OK.
Seeing all sorts of error messages I've never seen before.

Picture quality does matter. Especially where television is concerned. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy it is on. However I am not happy with quality.

It's rather like going to attend a race live and then sellotaping your eyes shut. Picture quality does matter.
