Geva racing should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Finally Jan Lammers returns for a ful season of racing!

the former Le Mans winner will team up with ultra-fast fellow Dutchman Tom Coronel for the entire Fia Sportscar Championship!
It is expected that they'll drive a new Dome chassis with a Panoz-spec engine.

Maybe it's because I'm Dutch but they could have a realistic chance of gunning for the top spot with Lammers' legendary opening stints and Coronel chrushing consistency.

It woudn't be stupid to put some money on those two.

And at Le Mans they'll team up with Peter Kox as the Racing for Holland combination.

It's going to be great, mark my words!

Geva,

I assume when you say 'Panoz Spec engine' you mean a pushrod Ford V8 not the fancy new Zytek lump?

they are still working out all the details but I asume its the V8 rather than the Zytec but that can change.
either way it's going to be a good combination.

Umm...both engines are V8's.

The older engine was a pushrod set-up. Dated technology, but still used very extensively in drag racing and NASCAR. Power is made by displacement. Usually not able to rev as high as an over-head cam engine.

The new Panoz engine is also a V8, but in the over-head cam configuration. Engines are usually lower displacement, and make horsepower through the use of higher revs.

Why would they go for an Ford/Zytek V8 engine when the Dome chassis is designed with a Judd GV4 engine in mind??

Would changing from a 4l V10 atmo to a 4l or even 6l (last years engine) V8 change the handling of the car very much??

Sounds pretty cool to me....Jan Lammers is great. 1 of the most under-rated drivers ever! Put him in a Champcar today, and he'd suprise a lot of people.
