Well, if you are bored, here's some reminders of this year's race. Have to say, I liked the parc ferme arrangements as it gave a chance to look round the cars in peace and quiet after the noise and drama of the race.
Enjoy and dream of 2017 ! General gallery https://flic.kr/s/aHskySVD6Q Gulf pit stop https://flic.kr/s/aHskCrn93i Atmosphere https://flic.kr/s/aHskBFEDQC Parc Ferme https://flic.kr/s/aHskF1gT8L |

(Whoops! Meant to post it in here, not in the LM2017 thread...)
Any word on whether there will be an RLM discount code for Duke? I might hold off until next week's MWM just to make sure there isn't before ordering. |

I've sorted the other post..... I'm about an hour and a half in and really enjoying it. Certainly a lot more than the Italian procession this afternoon....... |

Which I am looking forward to being at next week! The Friday of race weekend is my 40th birthday. Looking forward to spending the day at the track, then going for a birthday dinner at the world famous Salt Lick BBQ.
And then might have to head down to Sixth Street so that I can have a nice hangover for race day. |

Finished off the last three hours last night - highly worthwhile and pleasantly surprised about how a WEC round worked around Mexico City. Obviously, remembering the good old days of the track, it's a shadow of what it was, but there's still enough appeal to the place to make it hang together nicely.
As Simon says, don't leave it too long and miss out... |

Can't say I liked Audi always winning, but am really shocked by them leaving WEC. We knew it was comming but still shocked.

Dr Ulrich just said ' no descicions have been made' so it's just a rumour. Let's hope so.

I might stick with that for 2017... It is striking though, that from 4 big manufacturer programmes in 2015 we're now down to two pretty bare bones ones, and perhaps more striking that given the passage of time it's something I'm now pretty phlegmatic about - we've had downturns before, we'll have them again. As I've joked with some on a birdsong related social network maybe in a couple of years we'll see a homologation special Audi R18 'GT' win and then the following year see a modded Rebellion R1 piloted by a long time unlucky fan favourite (Nicolas Minassian) miss out their last chance to bad luck, weather, and a polished performance from a sub-class runner (maybe a Honda NSX - fitting somewhat with the 1995 theme?). Change is a certainty in life and with every sunrise the next time is one day closer. |

Well lets see what happens, if only two porkies and two toyota's it will not be much of a race in P1 unless the aco can work on those that have withdrawn or not announced entries yet

I agree Ian. I was at Le Mans in 1992, the year of the 28 starters when many people (including the guys I used to go with then) decided not to bother to go as it would be a disaster and I saw a great race between Peugeot and Toyota in some of the most glorious cars I've ever seen - and heard......

i think that most of us will be there even if the field consists of old LMP2 cars and GT only, the race is only part of the experience but even with only 3 classes there will always be close battles and excitement somewhere and that can not be said of some other motor races
