Lorenzo Bandini Trophy
Noticed that Mark Webber is receiving this award - anyone know what its for?
quote from an article onw F1 live - "Already in action at Barcelona, meanwhile, is Williams' Mark Webber, who next week will travel to the Italian town of Brisighella to collect the coveted 'Lorenzo Bandini trophy'. Previous winners include Michael Schumacher (2003), Kimi Raikkonen (2004) and Fernando Alonso (2005). David Coulthard and Juan Pablo Montoya have also taken home the prize. The plaudit is named after Bandini, the leading Italian driver of his era who died in the 1967 Monaco Grand Prix." |

Anyone know what the basis of the award is? I'm amazed that any panel could neutrally rate Webber as the best driver of the past 12 months.

as far as i understood . it's not about the best driver of the last 12 months .

It was actually Kimi in 2004 since it is only awarded to F1 drivers. Matti was a "special award".
