Besnard - Where to From Here?

From a Glen Seton Racing Press Release:

David Besnard's performance today underlined his versatility after driving the Ford Credit Racing Falcon for just two laps yesterday and six laps in this morning's warm-up.

"It would have been a great story if we could have got up today, and for a while there we looked really good," said Besnard.

"The team called a very good race, and I know that if we got down to a hard race at the end I was more than up to the challenge.

"The car was very good, and I'm sure Glenn will be out there challenging in the coming races.

"I learnt a whole lot this weekend from being with the team, and I'd like to think I can repay them in the future."

The Ford Credit Racing team has just two weeks before the next event, the Gold Coast Indy on the streets of Surfers Paradise.

Could it be a portent of things to come in season 2003?

I think Besnard will go to "00", just my thoughts. But there are many ways he could repay the team back, just have to wait and see what they are! But Besnard, he'll go to "00" thats what I think!!

I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if he moved to 00 as i don't think Crompton will be there next year although you never know if Seton was to have a second car that could open up a seat for Besnard at Ford Credit.

At Darwin Cromley said he wants to do another season or two in v8's before going into other - less fulltime- categories and more commentating. I got the impression he wanted to stay with 00 motorsport but that was back in may so who knows now.

I do hope Glenn Seton Puts david Beseards in there Second Car if ti runs Next Year. I Personaly think he's got as much money as he will from Ford Credit and if the second will run in 2003. which needs too. The Money needs to come from a new sposner. Put Owen Kelly in the Konicas for another year with one of the teams AU's which they has so many of and won't sell. BUT if none of this happens and Glenn can't run the second car for Beseard he'll go to 00 Motorsport. Beseard almost certianly won't be at SBR next year opening the door for Ingall

"I learnt a whole lot this weekend from being with the team, and I'd like to think I can repay them in the future."

Tell me that doesn't mean they have all ready start talks for the 2003

The first time i saw Besnard drive was round a street-track this season in qualifying and he was pretty exciting to watch - that was my first time watching V8's and he caught my eye more than the others even if he wasnt on pole. Is he any good?

I like Crompton, and it would be a shame to see him bumped out of 00, so I hope Bezzy can get into a second FCR Falcon. Of course, if Crompton was out of a ride next year, we would get someone who is currently one of Australia's best commentator back in the booth...

I think besnard has really matured this year and it would be a shame to see the Stone Brothers let him go , but with Ingall knocking about its a very good possibility, but I hope David can get a ride somewhere and a decent one too as next year he could be even better

besnard has Matured deeply this year. Compare this year to last and his reuslts. As much as i'd like crompton back at Ford Crdit Racing, His depature at the end of 2000 was a very happy and freindly one.

It would be a great shame if Crompton was out of a drive. He is truly an underrated driver.

Interesting- I see 00 Motorsport are only building two BA cars for next year- what's Rodney to do? Will he get a full Beehag shell, or the coke and sars?

I'd say Besnard would drive a second Seton car, if he does run 2 cars.

As for Crompton, it depends how much say Ford has in the decision. If it is up to Bob Forbes, i can't see him being dropped, them to go way back.

Are current VXs and AUs allowed in the main series next year? If so, maybe 00 will continue with an AU for Rodney for a bit.

I think they should be able to run (VXs & AUs). Brings up an interesting point though, what if the currents cars turn out to be faster than the new 'project blueprint' cars?

David is a good driver and most likely will be with 00 but I am sure he will pick up a good ride some where.

What about the CAT car with Briggs? Could it be an option?

Last thing i heard was that the CAT money was going to TWR and Briggs would concentrate on the two Betta cars. Means one less drive available.

I've wondered how much longer CAT would persist with Briggs, since Bowe left, their money has gone to waste.

I wonder if Ingall would go to SBR and drive a Caltex car, he really has become almost as much a Castrol man as Larry.

Besnard, like Wills, has failed to impress me greatly.
