Yes, Easter Monday 24th March at Castle Combe.

JEB will be sending out the entry forms soon (as soon as I have produced them...).

"Testing is available on Thursday 20th March priced at £90 per half hour session"

Is that right or should it read half day?

That's correct. Normally test days at Castle Combe are sold as half days (£175) or full days (£275). A half day will typically give you 3 x 15 minute sessions depending on how busy the day is.

Due to the demand for pre-season testing particularly for this event we have decided to run the day as pre-booked sessions (which is what we do for the FF Carnival pre-race testing). This gives everyone a reasonable amount of track time without the hassle of queueing for your sessions.

Wish I could be there Steve, but a more pressing appointment precludes me showing up.

Understandably the bulk of the entry is made up from the Castle Combe Championship regulars, but there are a few visitors from Diz's part of the country (at least one who should be very quick), plus a couple of historics.

The full entry list will be posted on the Castle Combe site later this week.

Steve if the entry is down will you be having one qually race?

Everyone entering the Golden Helmet will get two races. An 8 lapper mid afternoon, which will determine the grid for the 15 lap grand finale at the end of the day.

There will also be the opening round of the Melton Concrete Products Castle Combe FF1600 Championship, which will be Race 1 straight after the lunch break.

For those spectators that stayed on to watch the final, they got great racing.

Stu Gough, Josh Fisher, Tom Bradshaw and Felix Fisher, all nose to tail for the first 1/4 of the race, couldn't have been any closer.

Felix dropped down the order on about lap 6, leaving Stu, Josh and Tom to battle it out.

Sadly, on lap 9, a move by Fisher at Tower sent Tom shuttling towards and into the barriers and out of the race. By this stage, Ed Moore had worked his way from 22nd on the grid to lead the race on lap 12. He then opened out a small lead and won from Fisher in 2nd and Gough 3rd.

As I left the circuit, the Stewards wanted to exclude Fisher from the results due to his contact with Tom. No results on TSL yet, I'd guess they will be on pretty soon.

All I can say is us northerners gave it our best shot at beating the locals. Nearly did!

The word I had from officialdom was that there was unlikely to be any change in the published results.

It was a wonderful race and credit to all of those involved. Well done to Ed Moore on his win; commiserations to Stu Gough on being denied (a chance at) the race win by an errant contact lens.

I was the driver of the yellow FF backmarker (no 80) they had just passed, and I was directly behind them when the accident occured.

Before I say anything let me explain that I am run by Wayne Poole and also a novice driver so I'm not going to express any opinions either way on this, it wouldn't be proper.

All I'd like to say is that I hope Tom is OK and to express my awe at Ed's pace - after fluffing my start I decided that discression is the better part of Valour and I'd ought to get out of his way...!
