Great cars! I really always thought the Brits have something special with car design - and there're just soooo many examples to actually enforce this statement apart from these 2

Thanks for the info and pics Sarthe82, Alfaholic and The359, much appreciated, I am interested in these rare low volume racers, I think their rarity makes them or more sought after. Just another question, does anyone know of who drove them, I saw a Hezemans (sp) sticker on the car so I'm guessing maybe Mike of Carsport fame drove it??

They were by Mike and Toine Hezemans. Mike Hezemans was partnered with Jan Lammers in the #9 car, while the #10 car was Rainer Bonnetsmuller, Manfred Jurasz, and Stefan Hackl. Michael Fielder replaced Hackl in the #10 car at Hockenheim.
Lammers drove the car in a demo at the Marlboro Masters event in 1998. Last edited by The359; 4 Sep 2008 at 03:08. |

I remember reading somewhere that one of the two Bitters was returned to Lotus GT1 specification, complete with twin-turbo V8. It was due to be entered in British GT in 1999 by Hans Te Pas, but never materialised.

The Hezemans Bitter GT1 resides at Mike Hezemans, Kartingtrack,
(Engine Viper V10, with Gemini Gearbox) The other Bitter is most likely still with the team of Rainer Bonnetsmuller. The lockation of the official roadcar I don't know, but maybe life of one of the racecars started as a roadcar. The Hans te Pas Elise GT1, was the car that was in the 2001 supercar rally. Which is the same as for sale now by Lotuscars Holland. And the last one build by Lotus as official Elise GT1., |
