RLM have been saying a splash for the Porsches too. Toyota are the only ones they're saying can do it without a splash.

And the reason Hartley stayed out for a while on that bad tire was to not disrupt the fuel plan. -- EDIT -- Even now, under the FCY they're talking about this being good news for Audi as it might give them the opportunity to avoid that extra stop. No mention of the Porsche(s) |

They did mention Porsche. They said this is bad news for Toyota because it allowed Audi and Porsche to possibly skip the splash. They talked about Porsche at the start too because Toyota are (in Johns opinion) fuel saving so they can leap Porsche and Audi at the end. They even did the maths of how long it'd take in the pit lane.
What they did say was a splash at the end for Porsche and Audi gives an advantage to Porsche because they generally have faster stops. |

Webber keeps losing time because the 36 is too slow. He has lost 6 seconds already...

Wurz being pretty candid about Toyota being nowhere due to tire issues.

Whenever they talk about Toyota, this is not what they say. Until the Wurz interview, John was adamant that Toyotas strategy was to fuel save and do 1 less stop then Porsche and Audi, thus saving 35ish seconds in the pits. And as he said, the FCY was bad for Toyota because it then made Audi and Porsche safer on fuel. And if you do the maths, Porsche with 51 minute stints would need a splash after you take into account the formation laps, but would now be safe after the FCY. Audi with 49 minute stints is far far more marginal even with the FCY as they need around 15 minutes of fuel. For Toyota it doesn't matter. They're so far off the pace that it won't make a difference.

The first of the Toyotas going one lap down...
Di Grassi passes Lotterer out of T3, let past by the team. |

G Drive have had an issue and lost the lead. We need to see that, as that car was dominating.

#26 has some sort of driveshaft issue, looks like that car will take a while to get back out if at all.

It'll be fun to see which team turn out to be right lol. John pointing out Porsche got one more lap that stint due to FCY. Expecting Audi to gain one too.

This does not look good for Toyota for the rest of the year. Time to scrap this year and put on the thinking cap maybe...

Davidson's demeanour in the cockpit says it all. Not expecting much from the TS050s in this race.
Closing in on halfway, I wonder if Audi will play favourites and politely suggest the #8 stays ahead? Either way, both pit, full service for #7 and fuel/tyres for #8. |

#2 Porsche is very snappy and loose. Is it still battling an issue?
Once again, Porsche makes up buckets of time in the pit stops. |
