Try Hard should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
excellent images bernard.
It does appear that the extensions are indeed part of the rear bodywork, and bolt onto the the wing endpaltes.
There surely must be some kind of advantage to this arrangement, and not just cost? Especially as it seems lister have used it to produce new endplates too.

Where as in the FIA GT they run full 2m wings...
I mentioned this a while back with regards to the C5-Rs new rear wing.

Pure speculation on my part, but these new GTS rear wing regs maybe one of the ACO's ways of trying to cut down on homologation specials with narrow prototype like cockpits, as seen on the Bentley.

The toolboxes (as they quickly became known through the weekend) performed very well. Figures suggest they act as a full-span rear wing in terms of lift & drag.

...and as importantly, they didn't fly off anyone's car !

actually, the only car on which they aren't sealed with the rear wing is the Rollcentre Dallara

With the Lister it has enabled them to have some winglet mountings at the bottom too (as mentioned previously).

You know, I'm surprised that these boxes are effective. I'd have thought that the point was for them to be aerodynamically neutral - otherwise, why shorten the wing at all?

Given the assumption that they don't produce d/f (ie don't generate low pressure under the box), wouldn't that reduce the effectiveness of the endplate extension? I thought the extension's purpose was to contain the low pressure immediately under the wing, but to my mind there would still be bleedoff between the low-pressure wing end and the box zone.
