Q2 Toyota and RBR
Wow, Toyota and RBR!!! I would have never thought this would happen a month ago. I think RBR is going to fair better in the race as compared to Toyota.

This, I think is good enough thread as any to talk about overall qualifying - after the second session was completed, the times are as follows:
Code:
1. F. Alonso Renault 3:07.672 2. J. Trulli Toyota 3:07.925 3. G. Fisichella Renault 3:08.448 4. M. Webber BMW-WilliamsF1 3:08.904 5. R. Schumacher Toyota 3:09.007 6. K. Raikkonen McLaren-Mercedes 3:09.483 7. C. Klien RBR-Cosworth 3:09.589 8. D. Coulthard RBR-Cosworth 3:09.700 9. J. Button BAR-Honda 3:09.832 10. J. Neidfeld BMW-WilliamsF1 3:09.917 11. J. Montoya McLaren-Mercedes 3:10.090 12. R. Barrichello Ferrari 3:11.502 13. M. Schumacher Ferrari 3:11.633 14. F. Massa Sauber-Petronas 3:11.884 15. A. Davidson BAR-Honda 3:11.890 16. J. Villeneuve Sauber-Petronas 3:12.995 17. N. Karthikeyan Jordan-Toyota 3:17.656 18. T. Monteiro Jordan-Toyota 3:17.962 19. P. Friesacher Minardi-Cosworth 3:21.186 20. C. Albers Minardi-Cosworth 3:23.001 Toyota second and fifth will hope they can translate into at least one podium finish in the race, while Renault will hope they can claim two race wins in a row. Williams grabs fourth with Webber, but teammate Heidfeld stuck in tenth place, one ahead of Montoya, surprisingly off the pace compared to teammate, Raikkonen, who slots in sixth position on the grid. Row 4 is an all-RBR affair, with Klien outqualifying Coulthard. Big surprises further down, with Rubens outqualifying Michael, but still only good for 12th and 13th, while Massa turns the tables on JV to qualify 14th with Villeneuve in a lowly 16th. |

It's going to be a very interesting race. Red Bull, Klien, and Coulthard have been doing an awesome job. It would be great to see them beat the big guns again.
I'd like to see Toyota do well. They could get their first podium today. |

As has been said a great job by Toyota & RBR and I hope they can keep this sort of pace for the race.
I believe tyres are the cause of Ferrari's problems but any idea what is happening over at BAR? Could it be a heavier fuel load? |

Massa has complained of understeer in his Sauber, while JV said that given their position after Saturday, he was concentrating on strategy.
Tried to post a link to it at F1.racing-live.com, but it didn't work, so I'll just say it's there. Last edited by Dixie Flatline; 20 Mar 2005 at 05:31. |

Certainly the Minardis and Jordans arent particularly special this weekend... Mr Stoddart needs to get some serious testing in place for Christian Albers, he seems a fair way off his teammate in every split/session

Interesting comparison between the Saubers, and Davidson - Villeneuve 0.4s slower than Massa, but almost 1.1s slower than Davidson.
