Good luck charms & Ton"ie"

I really enjoyed the story about WILSON when Little E’s crew strapped the volleyball inside his car for good luck. Craven’s purple rock last week was given to him by his daughter who found it on a field trip that she took. That was special. However, I thought the hula-girl inside the deck below the read window of Ton”ie’s” car was rather cheap looking… I think they could have come up with something better…Maybe a chainsaw would have been more appropriate. LOL

ESPN2's RPM 2 Night reported last night that Stewart and Ganassi will team up for the Indy 500 and Target and Home Depot will co-sponsor the car..

Looks like Gordon and Harvick needs some sort of charm this year.

Maybe a charm braclet would work for Gordon.

Do ya really think so ???

Big Cojones, why do I think I might know you from another board ?? * G * … That had better be your REAL NAME mister because we aren’t allowing any funny biz around here ! This is serious stuff here !!

Do you really think Jeff should wear Brooke’s charm bracelet ??? I’m sure she would let him, but I don’t know if he would want to … Sometimes those things have sharp picky things on them, and it just might get tangled up in his sleeve and cause him to momentarily jerk the wheel and maybe run into Harvick or Little E., causing a bad day for them… Now, I KNOW you would feel badly about that so maybe you should put your thinking cap back on and come up with something else.

Good to see RacerX , or Racerex ?? (Same dude ??), and IRENE !! in here . Let the games begin, eh?

Yes let the games begin!

I actually think that he or Kenseth are the best of the Roush stable. Those guys along with Lil E, Johnson, Sadler, and Stewart will soon rule the sport.

30 is old? To me that is but a distant memory...
If you think 30 is old, I gotta ask... How old are you?

But of the drivers with the most Championships, how many were won before age 30, and how many were after age 30?

Richard Petty
1 before, 6 after
1979 age 42
1975 age 38
1974 age 37
1972 age 35
1971 age 34
1967 age 30
1964 age 27

Dale Earnhardt
1 before, 6 after
1994 age 42
1993 age 41
1991 age 39
1990 age 38
1987 age 35
1986 age 34
1980 age 28

Jeff Gordon
3 before, 1 at 30
2001 age 30
1998 age 27
1997 age 26
1995 age 24

Darrell Waltrip
3 after
1985 age 38
1982 age 35
1981 age 34

Cale Yarborough
3 after
1978 age 38
1977 age 37
1976 age 36

I couldn't find David Pearson and Lee Petty's birthdays... Or I would have included theirs too. But there ya have it.

Don't hold your breath on Sadler, I like him but his Bristol win was a fluke in my book. The 21 team is a couple of years behind. With Roush's help they have came a long way but not far enough.

Oh. I didn't think of that. Old age and all that...

So now that I know Lee Petty was born in 1914, I can add him to my list as well, which also serves to illustrate my point that as far as NASCAR goes, 30 ain't old ...

Busch nearly wiped out everybody but the flagman at Atlanta. He needs to settle down a bit so he doesn't hit the cars he passes.

It will be interesting to watch him at Bristol. Hopefully, the TV cameras will have good enough coverage to watch him ...

BTW, is there only one pit road now @ Bristol ? The work all completed ??

The pitroad at Bristol is pretty much continous but the frontstretch pits still have the advantage, qualifying will be critical to being sucessful at Bristol.
For a good finish, a frontstretch pit is a must, only 22 stalls there.

TIM B. you must remember when NASCAR was formed in comparison to Lee Pettys age, they were still running Moonshine through the hills in 1944 when Petty was 30.

geM...Bristol looked "dirty" yesterday, they have a lot of painting and steam cleaning to do in the next 6 days.

As to pit road, they had the back stretch pits blocked with saftey cones yesterday during practice. I would have figured that to be a part of practice getting use to one pit lane and all , but I guess not.

I read somewhere yesterday, NASCAR and their infinite wisdom, they will widen the pit boxes 3 feet. I guess the painting starts now that the testing is over. Even with the additional 3 feet the driver will still pit as close to the line as possible , to keep from getting blocked in or boxed in.

Sorry week for testing, rain all week, better this week than next. Rain again here this weekend, but anyhoo Gordon and Skinner are the only ones to really test. Gordon on Monday, Skinner yesterday. I passed the MMR #4 rig leaving yesterday at dusk they were there from bell to bell.

And another thing, geM, the 97 driver is the new mad man, maybe he has been taking lessons from Stewart or Harvick, Busch has certainly kicked it up a notch, I like him.

Actually Stan this will even things out considerably with all cars entering and exiting the same. The advantage will be the spotters letting the drivers on the front know when the drivers on the rear are leaving , thats all I see.

This new pit road at BMS is BS. Corporate money at its best lobbied for this rule change.

Qualifying at BMS use to mean everything, if you weren't in the front stalls your odds of winning hit the floor quicker than a prom dress. This was the only track the drivers had to be on from the time they got there until the race was over. But not anymore.

The party starts Wednesday! Ya'll come on down.

I'm coming down Friday for qualifying Big Cojones.

Pitroad is real "tight", could even be contact in the pits.

I LOVE Bristol !!! Contact Everywhere, LOL.
