Dolan with damage to the car, fear they will also get a penalty for a crew member touching the car while it was being refuelled.

So cruel for the #5 LMP3, stopped at pit entrance and the marshalls are pushing him into an escape road rather than pitlane.

T&S now finally showing the driver actually in the car. Makes it much easier to follow what's going on.

So I missed the race, but it sounds like it went ... okay? It looked like TDS was going to do well when Badet was charging up the field, but how did the rest pan out?

First race for the car (if we're talking about the BR01), that's to be expected isn't it?

I dont think SMP were helped by the 2 trips to the gravel and 1 car having a fuel leak.

I was rather surprised by the Pegasus car, which was running as high as 3rd in the first half of the race.

And almost all the Ginettas had trouble at some point unlike at Silverstone.
Ironically the unluckiest ones were the two factory LNT cars with having to contend with car issues, stop and go penalties, spins and whatnots.

Stewards have been busy this weekend! http://elms.alkamelsystems.com/noticeBoard.html

Decision 37 is interesting - the winning LMP3 team used an extra set of slicks in the event and got a 3m35s penalty, but because they were two laps ahead of their rival, they kept the win!

Enjoyed it - TDS looked pretty comfortable throughout - but not to the extent that it was a walk over, some interesting battles, and all helped by it being a lovely track shown off well with good camera positioning. Was struck however that something more than Silverstone this showed that the loss of Alpine and Morand to the WEC took a little bit away from the competition at the sharp end - sure Greaves / Jota / TDS / Murphy all put on a great show, and one assumes SMP will get there, but somehow there's not quite the cataclysmic feel to the confrontation up front that there was last year.

Year on year it's one of the event I keep telling myself I should go to, but being a couple of weeks after Spa and and not too long before Le Mans it's always a difficult one. Maybe one for a bit of advance planning and acceptance that it's going to be a busy 6 weeks in May/June.

Small but great racing...

The GT-PRO class was kinda small, but it took nothing away from the race they had...The WEC is the same, there will be 9 GT-PRO for LeMans....just hope the Astons last the entire race so the #51 Ferrari can win in a straight up fight...wish BMW would come back into the WEC in the GT classes...

The GT field more than cars itself lacks variety, although it's better than last year. But it's not really a big problem for me as the field mostly consists of Ferrari 458s.

The Gulf colours IMHO do look better on the Porsche than the Aston.

i have to agree with that. it's still a fantastic series, and i would imagine anyone watching it as a new fan wouldn't think there was anything missing but last season was incredibly close. there's been some real driving talent lost with those teams as well that hasn't quite been replaced yet, but there are plenty of spare seats in single seaters at around about the level of lmp2 that are keeping those guys fully committed to there. in a way it's frustrating that there's not quite enough money in the sport for the departed teams to maintain a car in elms as well as stepping into the wec. hopefully that'll change in the future though, and as everyone points out, the cars that have continued provide great racing in all classes so perhaps it's just perception.

either compromise or bin off spa for a year to do imola instead. you won't regret it. what fantastic surroundings/people and what a great circuit. was very much gutted that work trumped a trip there this season. in what is a truly fantastic calendar (both on and off the circuit) it's the best one, and that's really saying something.

It was a good race overall. Lmp2 was a little boring because the first car always run away after every restart. The GTE battle was incredible, amazing drive by Pierguidi who went from 5th to 1st during the last hour, his overtake on Rizzoli was also great. But the best thing to see was a very good amount of people at the autodromo this year. Maybe the largest audience in years for an endurance race in Italy.

I just caught up with the Motors TV coverage yesterday. Really enjoyed it, some great battles, especially the last hour or so in GTE.

No such thing as too many Ferraris...sheesh!

I hope you're not talking about the WEC GT-PRO class...AF CORSE is the only Ferraris in there with 2...Aston will have 3 Astons, Porsche will have 2, there will be 2 Vettes I believe...

What series are you talking about?

Yeah great looking car, I really hope it performs at Le Mans. Would be nice to have multiple teams at the forefront.
