I'm excited to hear this engine for the first time too, but that's a backhanded compliment - I'd rather have some actual creditable on-track performance to be wowed by instead!

Talked to a driver who tried it out in Barcelona, he was very impressed by the sight and amazing sound. It barks with the most wonderfull fulltone V8 bark!

But not very much with the racereadiness of the vehicle, it was ligthyears away from being ready..

And he never got to drive it in the race, as it grenaded in practice. I can understand that Prodrive needs to hype an interest for it with the privateerteams, but knowing what development state its in presently, I am not sure its the right thing to do.

Agreed. I think the right thing to do right now would be to race and develop it themselves. When they have proven it's a reliable and competitive package there will be customers.

Of course, that's also the expensive thing to do

Just for your info:

I have just received final confirmation that Audi´s lineup will be:

#1 Dindo Capello/Allan McNish
#2 Alexandre Prémat/Mike Rockenfeller

So it seems that Dindo is back in play in the LMS, while Fässler is fighting for victory in the ALMS.

And it seems, that the R10 raced at The Ring will carry a few new parts destined for the new baby next year.

I did not think that it was ever likely that Dindo would lose his LMS seat, but it's good news for sure.

I like how they are testing out internals for the car that may or may not exist. Or should I say that they may be testing out components, if they exist, for the car that may be used next year, if it exists!

Is the "Ranieri Randaccio" Lucchini Racing Box under another name or something new?

Ranieri Randaccio has raced LMS for a while on and off, they own the other Lucchini LMP2. They are not the same as Racing Box.
