Great planning guys.

I know, let's host two of the area's biggest yearly events!
At the same time!

The promotion for this year’s race is much better than in previous years. Ok, that’s not really difficult to archive as there was almost none in the past, but this year they are doing a pretty fine job. Audi and Porsche also made promotion by theierselves, although not on DTM level. There is of course the WRC-round nearby, but most Sportscar and WRC Fans are different animals.

Website claims qualifying would be on Eurosport 2. But I don't see it on the schedule, neither on UK, international or German.

Anyway, here is the race schedule for Eurosport 2:

10:00 - 11:00

Race is of course there, but qualifying is missing from the schedule which is contradictory what it says on lemans-series.com...

Well, there you have it!

I personally doubt that they will run the qualifying on Eurosport 2. But I dont work there, so I wouldent know

Absolutely not

This is cool! I am very rarely impressed by motorsport on Eurosport, EXCEPT when Haven and Cole is doing the honors behind the mike. The Danish commentators are a joke, and they are NOT improving! Thankfully Eurosport 2 is rarely dubbed!

The teaser is in the same style, but seems to be a mix of spins and other drama.

Thanks for the Le Mans teaser

Does anyone seem to remember Spa-cough, cought, McNish almost won the pole, and probably would've won the race if not for getting taken out by the #8 Peugeot when it wrecked and totaled itself.

And the Nurbergring is similar to Spa-basically a baby Spa. Audi didn't have straigtline speed at Spa, but when one considers how close qualifying and race lap times were, Audi had to have made up the gap else where. And Audi has the advantage of testing and having had raced the R10s since Le Mans, which Peugeot has done little testing, and for sure hasn't raced the cars.

Does anyone know if Pug has done any real development on their cars since Le Mans, or are doing a lame duck with the 908 and designing a new car for next year?

The LMS organisation has to plan their races in between FIA events and it has to be confirmed by the FIA, so for some race dates clashing I don't think they can be blamed.

I catch your drift, but I am not sure that they are entirely without fault.

I was aiming at the general maintenance of the series, from planning to operation. and I know enough drivers and teams, who are disgusted by the way the LMS series are run.

Which are a damn shame, because everyone (Including myself) agrees at the same time that they love participating. So there are room for improvement..

Of course there are things that are not really liked by teams...but the fact that there are 49 cars this weekend on the list says enough for now.

Just be glad to be racing in Europe again, no doubt. A chance to test the legs and shake the cobwebs out after such a long layoff!

(I know most teams will have been testing but it sounds good!)

Because there was no other date for that round?

It will mean some LMS drivers (for example some GT2 Porsche and Pescarolo drivers) are not going to race at Silverstone but will instead be at Brno.

Sticky! Please

Will anyone do what Deletraz did t'other year, and fly between the two? Last year, FIA GT Silverstone clashed with an LMS round, and Deletraz scored points in both!

Jan Magnussen did that last year, ran at Petit Le Mans and flew in a private jet over the pond to run in DTC in the same weekend. A bit stressfull though

Danish Touring Championship

But we're getting really off-topic here..as it is the LMS Nürburgring thread.

News:
- Spyker will use the new engine they already tested at Spa.

Charouz Racing System will race with a complete new chassis?

Quote:
Fans can look forward to one change in the team – the two will head out in a completely new LMP1 prototype powered by Aston Martin.

Over the break, Aston Martin Racing – which develops and prepares the car for the Czech team – have built a new car up around a new chassis. The elegant car in the top LMS category will see its premiere over the weekend on the racetrack in the foothills of the Eifel mountains. Jan and Stefan tested the vehicle on Tuesday at the French Circuit of Dijon, and the test drives went off without any problems.

Really good news for her fans, Liz Halliday will drive the Creation LMP1 #14(instead of Felipe Ortiz) at the Nürburgring this week-end !!!

About time she got behind the wheel again!

Hopefully they have ironed out the bugs in the Creation car, it has really had a good season. But the team is not what it used to be..
