People have been dropping big hints about a possible middle east round for autumn 2010.. Abu Dhabi being the obvious choice

i don't think prototypes would be a good idea with the pit exit at abu dhabi (its like a multi story car park, if you haven't seen it check out youtube).

that definitely is a bizarre pit lane exit, my thought was also of a parking garage exit and a boring circuit, might be a good kart track

I'm a bit sceptical about that - is it really as important a market as, say, South America? Or Australia?

It sickens me to watch any race with empty seats, and infuriates me in particular with the LMS (ok, that's partly down to the ACO not having a clue about how to shift tickets). And I can't see the Abu Dhabi masses flocking to watch the race - even when the GP comes, a huge percentage of attendees are foreigners.

It would be easier to get there in any case...although geographically you could as well make it a round of the AsLMS.

I don't think so. RML has a long relationship with AER, which is one of the reasons they have gone with the MZR-R. Maybe we will see upgrades to the MZR-R, maybe direct injection on the engine finally? It needs something to improve its reliability at 10/10ths!

Jota is testing with a zytek, maybe they will be back after a long time.

I´m not sure about RML and acura, Acura engines are really expensive and with a expensive maintenance. RML isn´t the the moneyed team of the grid, but maybe they found a good sponsor..... It would be good have one Lola-honda and we would see the true potential of Lola b08 chassis

The Straka Zytek had a P1 engine in it , unless they have now modified the car . If its modded , I suspect its sold , cuz whats the point of trying to advertise a P1 car for sale , when its been modded to P2 ?

The E-I reports that Jota are testing a P2 . Be good to see them back .

RML , maybe they dont have buckets of wedge , but they are not used to **** results either . Wouldnt surprise me if they get their mits on an Acura engine , although I reckon the complete package would be better cuz its already a well sorted car .

I might be wrong, but I don't think the Acura engine was the key to that package.

On a recent interview, the owner of Hache Team -David Carbajo-, said that they are preparing a good surprise for the 2010.

A good surprise would be one Acura, one Dome, one Aston or one Epsilon (100% spanish team). But probably they have a new Lola.

No 1000km Nürburgring next year?

From the Speedweek article on the GT1-World-Championship-schedule:
Quote:
The GT1 championship at the Nurburgring race replaced the 1000km race of the Le Mans Series, the ADAC Nordrhein organizing was reportedly not very happy with the LMS.

This is one of the old standard Sportscar races almost up there with Le Mans, etc. Would be a shame if it gets canned.

Well, tell that my countrymen. The turnout for the 1000k was not even remotely Le Mans-ish.
(Though I must admit, that I choose the 24h of Zolder over the 1000k as well.)

Perhaps I was harsh on the ACO. But, all the same, the quality of racing that the LMS brings should have the crowds flocking in their masses to watch the racing - the cars look good, they're fast, and we've also seen plenty of times this season Formula Ford antics throught the course of an endurance race. Peter/LMS Organisers/the ACO are clearly doing something wrong.

Ginge? It is the usual issue, lack of publicity. If you told mug punters that LE MANS CARS ARE RACING AT SILVERSTONE, you will get bums on seats. But it never seems to happen that way, there are no op ed bits in local papers. Very little publicity at all. Even Nigel's guest appearance didn't seem to pack the place as you would expect?
