I'm quite happy to see so many entries in the P1/2 and GT1 classes.

Traditionally these classes have always struggled, so to see teams investing in these cars shows sportscar racing is pretty healthy.

There must be well over 100 GT2 cars competing in various series across Europe.

The works LC70 at Paul Ricard was the Courage Blue #13, whereas the one racing in Istanbul was the Advan sponsored #12 car. I doubt they changed the livery before shipping the car over. So there should be two cars around. I have still only seen one Creation, but it would be great to see another race.

Let’s see, in current Magny Cours test the Advan car carries # 13

I kind of forgot how easy it was to fit new bodypanels to these cars, so my theory could very well be flawed. It would also make sense that in the pre-season the car would be livered in the Courage colours only to be replaced before the first race.

EDIT: I just checked, the Istanbul car was also #13 Advan.

Yep, they are replacing the engine. Switching back to Judd. Their prospect mentions a GV5 but I am not too sure about that. Anyone? For sure they have lots of work to be done. Sad but at least better chances in terms of reliability than with the Mugen at Le Mans.

Oh man , that does not sound too good at all . Im sure they will have some kind of troubles with the new installation , or cooling or something .

I reckon at this stage , to stuff a GV4 in it would be a bad choice , especially when weve seen how well the GV5 can do .

How does that effect their Le Mans entry , or will it ?

That's shocking news Sander!!

I assume the conversion to the GV4 should be fairly straight forward, but a conversion to GV5 will surely take a lot of work, not to mention beefing up of many of the components. I just hope he has time for the car to be reasonably well prepared for Le Mans. I'd hate to see him struggle again at Le Mans like he did last year!

Indeed, this sounds like changing horses in the middle of the river. I guess the "Istanbul vibrations" forced this change... It's a risk but then again I like people that can take decisions!!!! I will keep my fingers crossed.

There are 2 factory Courage LC70s on the LMS entry list, but according to Yves Courage the second car will only run at Le Mans.

What will happen to their Le Mans entry. I don't believe that an engine change is allowed--and it should not be. Everyone else has had to commit to a defined package (chassis and engine). I don't see why RfH should be allowed any special favours in this regard.

But Courage will still be racing two Courage's at Spa, the second being the Mugen factory car which is heading for the JLMS. Mugen wanted the car to have a race under it's belt in Europe before being sent to Japan.

I was trying to remember the last time this happened. It was actually quite recent. We had the Courage/JPX engine fiasco in 2004. I'm sure Courage simply filed a technical change with the ACO and permission was duly granted for them to use AER units instead. That of course was a forced change, this one is voluntary. But I still see no reason for the ACO to be 'difficult' about it.

If there are extenuating circumstances (Mugen can't supply the engine), then I can understand an application for the change being accepted (like in 2004). In this case, it will be a decision made by RfH and should be resisted.

In the GT area, should Cirtek be allowed to change its entry of the 550 (given on merit for last year's performance) for a DBR9? If not, they will have to rent a 550 to run at Le Mans...and that is looking like what may have to happen.

Can't wait to see the new Zytek turn a wheel in anger (shame there are no real speed demons in it though).

Anyone else agree with me that this is the most beautiful LMP car atm?

The Zytek is OK although the decision to have the wider wheels has made it look a bit too 'chunky' for my tastes. I prefer the frontal aspect, the rear does nothing for me.

Anyway, let's see how it goes. I think going with a V8 is a mistake but sensible given that it is made by Zytek (and they don't do V10s). It should be quick but will it last?

Quick drivers? Nielsen and Elgaard are no slouches (2 pros). Without JCW in the Creation car, Pesca will walk it and the fight will be for second and third. IMO, Minassin, JCW and Ortiz could make it a race. With Gabbiani instead of JCW, Pesca will not need to be pushed.

Please, if there is a God!!!!!............

I've just reread the DSC article and missed something the first time round. The GV5 which will be installed in the RFH Dome will in fact be the older S1 version (as used by Pescarolo last year), not the new lightweight S2 as will be used by Pescarolo/Creation/Swiss Spirit this year.
