Yeah but that doesn't exclude addition of sponsor tags. Of course they'll be added. If not they have issues.

Yeah the 2010-2011 are world apart from others.
My favorite color in general is red so increased amount of it in the 2011 livery was great, but I can't get past the awesomeness and golden looks of 2010. Dare I even say that the 2010 Lola Rebellion is close to being, if not THE favorite racing livery of mine ever...? I would put the current #13 metallic red in position 3 ahead of 2014 livery, if it weren't for those lame white Porsche swipes. Last edited by Deleted; 30 May 2015 at 17:38. |

“This engine allows us to maximise our fuel allowance. Last year, the engine ran mainly at 104.9 kilograms per hour, now it’s 106.4, which means roughly, we’ll be 1.6 percent faster.
Interesting. |

If thats literally 1.6% maybe they can go from 3:30's to 3:27's?

#12 did 3:29.7 last year in quali.
Some factors for R-One speed this year - Permitted max petrol flow at LM last year was 102,9kg/h - that quoted figure was for post-LM races - so X% improvement on top of that theoretical 1,6% improvement from 104,9 to 106,4 kg/h - Faster circuit than last year because of runoff + Minimum weight is now 40kg heavier (850kg) than last year (810kg) +/- One year more of experience with the chassis, and different engine, new components and aero bits +/- (Whatever allowances ACO might give between test day and race week) Last edited by Deleted; 30 May 2015 at 22:21. |

Doubt the cars stay at 850kg, they will probably drop that weight after they see how far back they are from the hybrid cars. These guys need to be making at least 650-700hp to keep up.

on endurance info is reported that with AER, the r-one gained 80hp. The car now should be in the range of 625hp, considering also that one of the them hit 328km/h as top speed. Does anybody know if this year is used a 6 or 7 speeds transmission?

Unless I am mistaken Stephan Gervais confirms in his interview that the car uses the same gearbox (and rear suspension) as last year's car. Was this a 6-speed gearbox ?

Stephan Gervais from Rebellion said, that the car gained about 80 HP with the new engine, and that they expect to be 5 seconds faster than last year.

Did it reach 328 km/h at La Sarthe or Castellet?

328.8km/h this morning for #12 and 323.9km/h this afternoon for #13.
Last year with 80hp less basically hit the same top speed, this let me think that even if more powerfull, the car produces more downforce so more drag as well |

The rebellion bell-housing looks really nicely integrated with the air ducts from the filter box down to the turbo inlets, much neater than the Kolles version......this will really help build a nice head of pressure at the turbo inlet.....but overall im still of the opinion the twin-turbo option is verymessy for the aero package......it looks like a bit of an octopus mating season.....but hey to have already set a 3.30 the new package already has serious pace about it, they are now very close to the manufacturers and well ahead of Kolles.....best of luck rebellion. |

He talks more about the engine and the reasons for the change HERE (in french) In THIS very interesting article, Bruce Wood from Cosworth, talks about what you were saying about turbo vs NA engines and how the engine power is generated. It's explain why the power curves are so flat in the modern sportscar engines. |

Rebellion also now have Shell and Arctic Velvet (spring water) as sponsors at LM. The spring water deal is a work around of French laws that restrict tobacco and alcohol advertizing at sporting events.

Just like the Toyota 2.1 inline 4 that AAR used in their IMSA GTP cars: need more juice, crank up the boost (within fuel consumption/reliability limits).
Strange to think that the AER engine is so much more gutsy than the Toyota V8 was in spite of the V8 being almost 75% larger in capacity, but that's forced induction for ya'. |

Turbos make up for the lack of engine size.
