Tincknell passes de Bruinn.

#46 pits, Thiriet does get back in. Old nose incoming, let's hope it is fixed.

Thiriet back in the 46 car. Hmmm. There was no need for that, I think?
Original nose back on.

So can Tink pull enough of a gap on the TDS car to do a stop? Doubtful but it'll be interesting.

Not without the help of the sausage kerbs, no

But it has been a good recovery drive from the #38, second might have been the best they could have expected anyway given the imperious form of the #46.

Ah, they found it was that way it happened. It explains why it was not penalised. It really looked like the #66 was at fault at the replay I saw, but I guess there was more to it.

Thanks.

Congratulations to the #29 LMP2, which has just spun in front of Tincknell at T1 and ruined their race

A lot of cars will be looked at for potentially speeding under FCY ...

#2 & #6 in LMP3

#56, #60 & #66 in LMP3

Edit - An LMP2 is beached ... you get three guesses as to which one it is and who is driving it.

Earlier I said the driving standards had improved. I forgot there was still time for Pegasus and Krohn to mess with everyone's race.

Hope Matteschitz throw some money for WEC to race on RB Ring too. Would be one of the few places really worthy of checking out

Because of the way the flag fell, the winning Ferrari did an extra lap over the other GT cars I think. So even if it's penalised, it should still win.

Let him first extend the track. It is a bit too short for that number of cars.

I don't think some fans(like Chiana) would mind a crowded track

I'd say that the ACO should ban all bronze rated drivers from the series that they sanction, including and especially the WEC.

There are plenty of bronze drivers who do fine. It's always the usual subects.

WEC has less cars than ELMS. So if this layout fitted ELMS, it'll fit WEC. But I'd also prefer the longer version.

Ban the bronze and say goodbye to a few teams, including the one which finished 2nd today.

Per S365, it seems that Duqueine Engineering has been stripped of its LMP3 class win:

Quote:
However, Duqueine Engineering has now lost its class win, in breach of article 10.8.9 of the ELMS Sporting Regulations, because it didn’t respect minimum pit stop reference times.
The car has been awarded a four-second time penalty for this, enough to drop it behind the No. 2 United Autosports car in the final standings.

This gives the No. 2 car its third win out of three races so far this season.
Any idea what exactly “pit stop reference times” are and how Duqueine Engineering might have violated this regulation?

I know that I made an angry comment about bronze rated drivers and I know that the "usual suspects" caused almost all the problems. But why can't the ACO or the series promoter crack down on these guys who cause most of the trouble? Some of those guys like Krohn are literal darts without feathers, and bullets coming out of gun barrels without rifling. Shouldn't the driving standards even for bronze rated gentleman drivers be a bit higher?

Sad thing about Krohn is that he was getting to be decent just a few years ago, but the past 3-4 years he's reverted to being in way over his head.

All LMP3 cars have to perform at least 3 stops above a certain mandatory time (regardless of the work done to the car), that is determined on a track-by-track basis before each event. Duqueine must have only had one or two stops above this reference time and therefore had the "missing time" of four seconds added on to their race result, dropping them to second place overall.

So I think the organizers at the red bull ring are doing something right -- IMO there was a bigger crowd there this year compared to last year. Can't compare the whole weekend, after some chaos on my end I only drove there sunday to return the same day (and as no one pm'd me to pick up that ring ticket...) so I cannot judge the other days in comparison to last year.

The Renault RS01s were proper fun to watch and listen to (oh and they ran 1.27s) at least.

For sunday though, weather was worse, crowds were bigger.

From on track, #17 P3 and the pegasus P2 were giving people headaches. Guess you saw that better. Poor #56 Ferrari as well, they were battling with P3s quite a lot and got (and delivered) quite some love taps in T1 and T2.
