well is he serious? 2 years for his daughter in highschool is not the time to leave. but he's the man-racing openwheel at 43 he is tough. I can't believe he'd go to run V8's though that is outta the blue.

In my opinion this was just a "baloon" (he was testing the waters). Does not sound very likely - but, again:

1.) How well know, and how high rated, is he in Australia. OK, he beat Nelson Piquet and Alan Jones in a Formula Atlantic race at Calder - but wasn't that in 1980?

2.) Moreno has shown talent in saloons too. I remember when he raced supertourings in France - he was quite impressive, even driving a non-competitive car (his showing in Dijon scared the hell out of the other drivers!)

It would be a pity if he retires now. Besides loving the guy (what a kind human being he is) he is surely responsible for helping Herdez to became a force to reckon, and for guiding Dominguez to raise his driving standards. Another year of Moreno at Herdez would be much beneficial to the team - but, in the current motorsport funding scenario in North America, Herdez cannot abdicate the pesos coming from Mexico.

I'd love to see Moreno stay in Champ cars for another year, hes shown this year that theres still some life in him yet with 2nd place at Miami. Keep on going Roberto!

Oh no! Another Brazilian driving a V8 supercar!!!!

Just kidding! It will be great to have Moreno downunder, and I'm sure that with his experience, he will do better than Mad Max Wilson has done so far.

We see so many Brazilian drivers all over the place!

Hope one day, people will get sick of our Aussie drivers too.

The revolution has started: GO Webber, Briscoe, Courtney!!!

Wow! Thanks for correcting me - and for making Moreno's resume look even more impressive...

No worries,

To make it look even better again, in the 1982 AGP he stalled on the startline and dropped to the back of the field, storming through to eventually finish in third place, beaten only by winner Alain Prost, and Laffite (from memory) in second.

What would Moreno have become in Formula One if he hadn't beek kicked out of his Benetton ride in F1 by TGF? (He still clouds up about that -- if there's any bitterness in his soul, that I think would be it.)

I hope he will stay on in Champ Cars though, he's a great ambassador and a fine man. (And will stop the rumour that you have to be 18 years old to be a "star" in racing. He and Carlos Sainz! Too old, bah!)
