Need a new monopod

I've got a Jessops 330 model, and it rubbish to be quite honest. The main problem with it really is that it has a quick release plate, attached to a movable head, which just makes it more wobbly... Add to that it fell off yesterday, luckily I managed to catch the camera before it hit the ground...

Can someone reccomend a more sturdy model, preferably with out breaking the bank? For some reason I begrudge paying a fortune for an extendable pole...
