Goodwood Festival of Speed- Saturday or Friday?

I've been going to the Goodwood festival of speed since 1996 now (with the exception of 1999)

We've always been on a saturday, but as many of you will know, it's been getting rather crowded of late.

So my dad suggested that we go on the Friday, so we can browse around the cars, then see them all go up the hill in the afternoon.

I have concerns that not all the cars will be there, and it might not be so good, so i was wondering if anyone here has been on bothe the saturday and the friday, who could possibly weigh up the benefits of going on friday, as well as any downsides.
