Well, super fast Estoril really...

Are you going try doing a few original designs soon?
I think you're limiting yourself a bit by doing lots of 'lookalike' tracks.
Try doodling on a piece of paper to see what you come up with and then copy it into paint (or even scan it).

That's about the same the track was up until 1995-96. They slowed the first part of the track afterwards.

Yeah, that's what we normally do (though, of course occasionally we give our views on how real tracks could be)

Yup as Pirenzo said, doodle on paper, i've gone through countless sides of A3 paper with loads of interesting designs on, try it out, let your hand do the drawing and sometimes you can come up with some really great flowing tracks.

I'm sure you've done this before but hunt around through the old pages of this bit, there's some real gems in there. Also have a look in that old man of a locked topic at the top, coutless designs to get you inspired.

Yeah. One should really read that thread through; it's quite interesting - and brings up great memories too .

Read through the entire My Tracks thread? You must be joking...
There are some good tracks in there, but it's a case of pot luck finding them.

Hey! I did that once . Not in one chunk, but i noted where i had made it to every time. It wasn't it's full length then, although i believe it was pretty extensive.

I've looked through the old thread a couple of times, too. Very nice to see all those old tracks. Too bad not all links work.

Well... if you look at the squirrel in Ice Age, he never stopped thinking of his acorn for well over ten millennia.

I have ice age, it's cool. but you don't have to wade through it all, just look at random pages, for example, page 23...

But then you end up going from page to page anyhow, because you get caught up in the stories and dramas that unfold! .

You used to get slated T_R for some of your designs! Some of them were pretty crazy though, I had a read through this morning.

Well, i guess all of us have gone through a development period, eh? But yeah, some of my tracks back then were quite bad.

Yeah sure I know what you mean mate, some of my earliest designs were hideous! I once chopped Pukehohe up. Ouch.

I remember my very first edit, Oulton Park, was awful. Nearly all of my early designs were overtaking-related. I soon learned my lesson after getting slated (on another forum) for an edit of Suzuka where I took out the Esses. That's why I think sometimes it's better to get slated than to have no comments at all

I'll have to have a look through at least part of the old thread - might help me for the future

haha shut up you chav

haha, yeah - I agree with James. I think it's better to get some bad comments to begin with, I was very aggrieved when my original circuits were condemned over at racingcircuits.net, but on reflection I'm grateful for the comments, and now - I think i've optimised my own personal style, and i'm pleased with it now.
