it seems more likely now that we will have MC-12s at Sebring as the MC-12 will most likely not have to be reprofiled and will just carry ballast instead

According to www.turbomagazine.be we can expect a C5-R for Carsport Holland, it seems to be official now Other races in 2005 are the 24 hours of Le Mans and Petit Le Mans. The rest of the season: LMES / FIA GT? Depends on homologation........

Yes - good news IMO. The question is how much ballast will the cars have to carry though? And would it be more benefical to Maserati to instead build a slightly narrower car and not have any additional weight penalties?

I think most people here think it would have been better for Maserati to have built a car that fitted the rulesin the first place, But never mind, all water under the bridge now.

I wonder how many races before either Maserati start whingeing about 'unfair extra weight' or the other teams start demanding more weight is added.

Exactly. Quite the can of worms has been opened here. I wish they wouldn't have done this, but.......

To be fair to Maserati, they havent moaned or whinged about anything that has been thrown at them by the FIA or the ACO, they have just accepted the decision and got on with things. Fair play to them if u ask me, its not a given that the MC12 will win IMO, after all we dont know how much ballast the car will have to carry, say 100kg for example, that would slow the car signifcantly...

Thrown at them!!! what on earth are you talking about. face facts the car was designed in such a way that it did not comply with the FIA/ACO rules, something Prodrive and Saleen have managed to do.

The fact that first the FIA and now the ACO seem to accept it is ok to do this when other teams like Lister and Mosler have not been allowed to race, even with added weight is crazy.

You are right, we don't know how much weight or for a fact that it will even be added, but i for one hope the MC12 does not win any races in its current format.

But who cares as long as Maserati are on the grid.

Im delighted to see Courage selling so many of his cars and abroad too . As far as i remember a Courage has only raced in the states twice before ..... a Pescarolo C60 at Sebring and a C41 I think at Daytona ..... one of those cars was disqualified or withdrawn for some reason i think ?

Courage must be one of the most popular teams on the circuit ..... i think .

Lot of thinking going on at this end !!!

I looking forward to see his LMP1 car for LeMans and hopefully with an Elan stuffed in the back , but rumour was that they couldnt make it fit . Any word on that ?

What about the Miracle C65 that appeared in the ALMS last year?

Road America, Petite & Laguna.

A Courage C41 ran in a number of races in 96' & 97'.
At Sebring 96', two of them ran.

Did any of the "Courage" Cougar C12's race in North America?
