The fuel spec for the ALMS is probably not the same. Also we may not have seen the ALMS turbos stressed by distance & speed yet. The longest ALMS race was Sebring and since then the rest have been under 3 hours . At Sebring the Mazda engine was definitely well off the pace of the Acura. Only in the shorter races has the Mazda come on against the Acura and that was only after Air restriction allowances.

It seems the only way for the turbos to survive is for the boost to be scaled back. A race winning team like RML shouldn't suddenly forget how to make a car go fast.

AER/Mazda complaigned about the fuel last year. They were told it would be addressed. They complaigned at Paul Ricard, and again, told it would be addressed. Spa came and went and still the fuel spec was not corrected. Who's 'fault' is it when the organizers demand the teams use a product not suited for all competitors? We don't expect the P1 cars be forced to use P2 tires yet we are sanguine when a new fuel is forced upon ALL the teams even when it can be shown to have adverse consequences for some participants?

Remember, the Turbos were considered solid and nearly unbreakable in 2006 and 7. Only after the fuel regs changed did the problems begin occuring.

To see if people disagreed! There are some great comments above saying they enjoyed the class. As Fab says it has come a longway since the early years.

Yes, I agree with you and was going to include that in my post. However, I didn't because this was a P2 thread.
