Blundell's qualifying lap 1990
Pistonheads have got an onboard lap of Mark Blundell's legendary qualifying lap in the Nissan R90CK in 1990. Apologies if you have seen this before, but if you haven't it is truly epic. Effectively the turbo was on maximum boost for the entire lap, the team told him to abort, he went for it instead. Check out the entry to Indianapolis, eek.

No need to apologize, this is one of those videos that I always find something new in every time I watch it.

You can see at around 2:40 during the lap (between Arnage and the Porsche Curves) that he fiddles with the dashboard for a couple of seconds... is that the famous "oh look, the radio's no longer working" moment?

Modern onboards are snorefests compared to that (the rare times ACO actually places the onboard cameras correctly).

Great stuff, interesting to see some of the development of the track as well. How fast would he have been by the esses if they had not put the chicane in before the Dunlop bridge?
