There was a good spirit between the two rivals and a nice compliment at the end.

5th overall was not bad either. The reliable LMP2 class?

Nothing but praise for the Strakka team.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the team for winning over my favorite, the other full HPD runner.

With Highcroft there I didn't give Strakka a chance, but they drove an absolute blinder of a race all around. Fantastic performance, top marks to Danny and Jonny. 5th place overall a fitting reward.

Can't add much more really. Expected the all-pro line-up of Highcroft to fair better than them, but was pleasantly surprised.

Fantastic effort, best of all the teams participating in this year's event.

These guys did an incredible job. Nick Leventis really did well to keep everything on the island too, including dealing with a puncture on his in lap at the end of the final stint. He has employed all the right people, both in the car with Kane and Watts and on the technical front, and this was a just reward for all their labour. I would love to see them come give PLM a crack.

Well Nick is seeing his investment come good, so who's to say he won't be pumping in some more budget and enter the car in the ILMC rounds? Of course, they'd be fighting against Highcroft in their back yard...

That's what I think might make it interesting to them.

Strakka a standout performance from the weekend - honestly didn't think they'd do the trip or have the pace to match Highcroft and I was wrong on both counts. Genuine pleasure to see them go around through Sunday and get a fantastic result.

LMP2 overall was a real surprise - not just Strakka but the rest of the LMS runners showed they've grasped what it means to run a topline sportscar programme and I think any of those that showed up at the weekend would be welcome anywhere.

Hats off though to all at Strakka - and surely they're perfectly in with a shout at overall victory at Algarve or Hungaroring if things fall right for them.

Thumper should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Following on from a less than complimentary review of the race from Steven English, I see Autosport has published a brief interview with Piers Phillips, the team manager at Strakka:

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/84511

The guys at Strakka are clearly over the moon with the result, and have every right to be. That was an impressive and almost faultless performance, and aside from the slow puncture for Leventis, the car never missed a beat. I see from an item on dsc (free to view) that Strakka is offering a VIP trip to the Silverstone 1000kms as a prize for anyone coming up with a name for their fan club. They might need one now.
