Ooooh s**t that was close. The leader just passed a backmarker and had to go into the pit entry to pass him..... trouble was the backmarker was trying to pit.
Race control might have something to say although no contact and no harm done that an underwear change for Juncadella wont fix.

Backmarker pitting got a drive through penalty for impeding the leader.

The only complaint I have is that they started the race an hour later than I remember. I'm fading fast as it's 2am here but I'll make it to the end.

Edit - I realize that is because it is nearing winter there and they have to preserve light.

And day light savings, too, I think?

I caught a second or third wind. I'm doing the shootout to the finish. i just might crash out.

That's probably part of it. Hopefully, they can return to the normal February start date with no travel restrictions next year!

Plus our clocks have moved forward an hour over the usual time due to the time of year. (Feb, when the race usually is held, is Summer time.... now is Daylight Saving time)

In local time the race actually started half an hour earlier than usual.

Yep, and we've gone the other way. I'm too tired to figure it out. Two laps left,!

"I'm speechless. I've got half a woody I'm so excited," said expat Aussie Habul, who was ecstatic with the victory.

Looks like I made it 11 hrs and 45 mins . The lack of cars was a detriment but the Mountain never ceases to entertain!

Very pleased for Habul .... even if only because he brought his own car over and paid for Triple 8 to run it for him, but managed to beat their works entry, plus other International Professional teams for the win.
And he loves Bathurst. So much so he bought a 17 acre property on Conrod Straight to base himself whilst racing there every year. And he is very likeable.
I cant imagine what the party would have been like at his place last night!

So this was part of the Australian Endurance Championship, not the GT World Challenge Series?

Part of the Intercontinental GT Challenge . Sadly the Covid inspired move from the usual Feb date to this last weekend put the event right in the Euro season and was the reason for the lack of International teams running (although we had several international drivers) Hopefully next year will be back to normal and a full International entry will be evident.

None the less a decent race with varying conditions and a bit of night (dark early am) racing for those there and after 12 hours there was less than 10 seconds in it between the Kenny Habul SunEnergy1 and Craft Bamboo teams in 1st and 2nd.

I do believe the event was also part of the GT WORLD CHALLENGE AUSTRALIA championship which started their season at Phillip Island in March, and next goes to SMP/Eastern Creek. (Full calendar I couldnt find on the Aus GT website but is here:https://www.speedcafe.com/event-cate...-championship/ )

Edit just noticed after posting that you are Aussie based so you may well be aware of all this. If thats the case apologies.
