Pit Stops

Should they stay or should they go for 2004 ?

Get rid I say. Not only are they confusing on the live tv coverage, they're even more when you're at the circuit. They don't add anything at all to the race if you ask me, and if anybody says it brings the teams into the race, I'll remind them who is it that prepares the cars the rest of the week and race weekend?!

It may be that they are due to be scrapped anyway with the introduction of the ETCC spec cars for next year. Infact I'm even leaning towards the suggestion of shorter races next year now..

Mmmnnn... yes. The above posts sum up my feelings perfectly.

They are artificial, and should go. Heck, they even seem to SPREAD OUT the pack these days!

The ETCC cars won't have any impact (in my opinion), since they can easily carry enough fuel, or have their tank capacity increased.

No pits stops.

1 Long Race with Qualifying over an hour so driver have to look after their tyres a bit.

1 Short Race with Qualifying being decided on a one lap shootout as it was a few years ago. Start qualifying in championship order but without success ballest.

The idea being a bit of variety in the race length and style as at the moment with pitstops you basically have two short races on fresh tyres. It should make a few cars a bit more skitish towards the end and add a few more sideways moments which are always good to see.
