James

Would it be possible to ask Brands Hatch to place the reflective light posts on the corners the same as at Donington, these are a great help, especially in the very dark spots like Druids.

Thanks

Martin.

WilliamP, here's the theory :-

Racing starts at 13.20, and there are firstly 5 races, all of a timed duration, not numbers of laps, and these 5 races are 15, 40, 15,15 and 15 minutes each. Then comes 45 minutes of Britcar qualifying, followed immediately by the Britcar race, which must end by the alleged 18.30 curfew.

You could call 5pm late afternoon in June, but in November it is most definitely night !

I would suggest that Britcar getting the deal it deserves is dependant upon nobody disturbing the tyre wall earlier in the afternoon.

Thanks everyone. I was at the last Britcar race a few weeks ago and they stopped it as it was getting dark. It was lovely and atmospheric, though. I really enjoyed watching the driver changes at dusk.

Actually practice starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday as per normal. It looks like being a good event. Officially it will be the first race in darkness at Brands, although a few have gone OTL in the past. I particularly remember one on the long circuit where various marshals cars were positioned with their headlights on to illuminate bits of track and marshals posts, great fun.

Hi James ,

We didn't get to meet on Saturday but I shared the TVR with Warren Gilbert and I just wanted to say what a great event it was. I had no prior first hand experience of the championship but having done most things from karting to the SR2 class of the FIA sportscar champonship, Iwanted to mention , for what it's worth how impressed I was with the whole thing!...especially the high standard of driving - moving over to be passed etc. it was excellent.
Anyway, hope to be able to do some more,

Regards

Richard Fores

Article in this week's Autosport comments that JCC may be no more unless they combine with EERC (who they ?) and hence the Centurian, etc may not happen next year. Just when I was idly speculating that the Centurian might be fun for next season...anyone know any more ?

EERC? - European Endurance Racing Champiosnhip (just a guess)

Did a JCC £100k at Oulton this year, most appallingly managed race day I have ever been too, an absolute shambles. Timing people forgot to bring.....the timing gear. Almost no information given out by orgainsers and even marshalls didn't know what was going on.

Shame, otherwise I really enjoyed the day and was thinking of doing the series with a friend for 2004 in addition to some Grads/Supergrads races.

Anybdoy know of any other 2 driver enduro race champioships for 7s.

I may be wrong but the EERC races don't allow "open wheeled" sportscars (i.e. Sevens), so how are Centurians going to be merged (as suggested by Autosport)?

This weeks Autosport reports that EERC & JCC have merged with EERC handling promotion and JCC running the races. The Centurian has been saved and "will now be open only to Caterham Sevens. Radicals and Westfields have been invited to run in Britsports,".

Any more info greatfully received, e.g. dates, venues, will there be a class for large people wedged into SV's with R500 engines ?

The Centurian has been saved and "will now be open only to Caterham Sevens. Radicals and Westfields have been invited to run in Britsports,".

Should that actually mean Radicals and Westie XTRs in Britsports ('cos they've covered wheels) and Seven-type cars (including standard Westie's, etc)?

James,

How about upping the Class 1 limit to 6000cc.

I'm sure a few Class A Formula Saloons runners would love to come out to play (I would, next year, and would be willing to carry ballast if need be.)

Regards

Rob.

After a 'long and winding road', Britain has night racing Back.
I wish to thank all the Marchalls/ Scutineers/ and the Club Officials for their hard work (sometimes in dreadful conditions,) and for their dedication to the sport....we at the EERC will continue to try to bring exciting theatre to your circuits with a variety of events. thank you all for a great second year.

No,

Thank YOU James for organising it, and thus making it happen.

Now how about extending class 1 to 6000cc?
