Satorian has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Finally their reliability will be tested after all, as they really have to make en effort this time.

In the last 3 or 4 minutes there was a comment about the #64 Vette going by smoking. Does anyone have any info to elaborate on the subject?!! I have looked around and can't find anything about it.

Great news that Sarrazin was the fastest. He was even faster than Bourdais a week ago.

Peugeot is taking the lead but will they last?

Bourdais will be on chat later this day on www.tagheuer.com from 4 to 5 pm. This is french time or CET. I'll try to ask him how confident he feels about the car reliability.

To me he sounds more bored with the questions than blase about being at Le Mans.

In the Audi press release I read that McNish set his lap on soft race tyres. So no special qualifying rubber for them.

From all the weather forecasts I have seen at the moment it is currently "mostly cloudy" but there is light rain showers forecast for tonight. Fingers crossed that the weather changes...

The main requirement is that all drivers for each car have to complete 3 laps in both daylight and at night. They need only be an out lap, a flying lap and an in lap, so it's not a big deal.

Even so, you can apply to the Stewards for a dispensation, which I did successfully once for an American driver with previous Le Mans experience.

It says on Plantelemans you need to be 130% of the fastest time in class.

i believe it is raining from wot i can hear on radio le mans.

glad to hear marco is alright after what was a very big accident indeed, really hope they can repair the car or are allowed to use a fresh 1 although if they are allowed to use a new chassis im not sure they would have enough money to get a new one from reiter

Okay, that's probably right, too, but an extra 30% is a very generous margin. On a 4 minute lap, it would be an extra 1m 12s!

If qualification is complicated by weather conditions, the ACO may take a view on that point anyway. It's hard to know; they can be very inflexible. It probably depends on who you are and whether or not they really want you in the race.

I figure that if the weather is wet for the early session, the pole has been decided, because teams are going to work on their wet set-ups and race set-ups in that majority of time that they will have on the track this evening....why risk a hard run in the rain that could kill your chances in the "real event" this weekend if they stack the car tonight.

If it is dry, you might see some banzai runs for the pole in that first two-hour session, but after the break they will do race set-ups...it is their last chance to do so...

Gavin is on RLM now (I only caught the end of it), said he tried to pass an LMP2 in the Porsche Curves when the prototype hit the brakes and Gavin his him in the rear, damaging the bodywork and giving him a tire rub (where the smoke came from).

I missed which LMP2 it was.

Rain, fog, oil, accidents, and delays. Just haven't been lucky for the two 24 hour weekends so far.

RLM says that the ACO wont allow JLOC to get a second chassis from DAMS, so the car is out.
